Novation Bass Station – Bold, Booming, and Buzzing.
The original Novation Bass Station, launched in 1993, is celebrated for its raw, punchy, and unmistakably analogue character. Designed during a period when digital synthesisers dominated, the Bass Station brought analogue warmth and grit back into the spotlight, making it a cult favourite among producers.

The Novation Bass Station by GForce, whilst remaining sonically faithful to the original, has been extensively enhanced, now offering polyphony, unison modes, a powerful modern sequencer, and expansive modulation capabilities with the advanced X-LFO and X-ADSR. These updates bring unprecedented depth and flexibility to the Bass Station’s iconic sound.

And if you are a registered customer of the Novation Launchkey MK4, FLKey, or SL MK3, Novation and GForce are delighted to offer you this plugin for free. Simply log in to your Novation account for more information!

FAST as always. Looking forward to trying this out. I have the old Novation vsti to compare to as well.. I only had the factory patches though (and haven't done any sound design in this one), and that is pretty easy to sound better than lol.

Edit; this thing sounds great! Factory presets are quite polished, as could be expected with Gforce stuff.

I think it doesn't because it was for Bass Station 2. This is first Bass Station.

I remember the original Bass Station well, it looked and sounded far better with just the blue panel and plenty of knobs to play with.

The sound of GForce version is fatter, but the original had more personality. This one is still amazing, but I feel it is missing that flavour that makes the Novation Sound recognizable.

I owned one, sound was thin and synthesis options very limited.
Knobs were just meh and pretty buggy at some point. A cheap plastic synth, marketed at a TB-303 replica but far far away from 303 sound.

Yes they were cheap. So cheap in fact that they were the cheapest. So cheap they were affordable.

They certainly weren't supposed to be a 303 replica, it was dual oscillator, had PWM and modulation. It had a completely different sound. Of course if you were trying to use them to replace a 303 you'd have got close, but not quite there. They were however good for leads, arps and basses of certain flavours and were used extensively in many, many recordings.

So Novation discontinues the original, leaves no way of activating it and then partners with geforce to make a new paid version. It's a good thing we have places like this.

Shitty ass AI animation in the promo video...
I'm always surprised by how lazily AI is used, they don't even do multiple passes until they get one that looks kinda right. "Body gets twisted 180° in a matter of 30 frames? Doesn't matter, keep it in. We're too lazy to curate our AI slop."

Sorry, I know it's not related to the plugin itself, but I had to get it out.

Bought a brand-new rack mount of the venerable Bass Station when she first came out in the early nineties.

Had zero other friends into production, no tutorials online to watch (didn't even have internet access back then!!!), and had no clue about synthesis.

Good times!

I bought the Novation DrumStation in the 90ties and a real Roland TB303.
What a wonderful time. Really missing it!
And yes, no internet, no youtube and all the other stuff, only time for making music
and having fun in the club

I Had an Alesis D4 on drums, a Korg M1 on keys, the Atari ST running a warez copy of Cubase, and an Akai MG614 multitrack, plus the obligatory pair of 1210s of course.

Oh yeah, and a LOT of time having LOTS of fun in the clubs.
And the truth shall set you free.

what else do you need? It made me excited for the plugin - not enough to buy it, but excited.

Sometimes one bass sound is all you need to showcase your bass synth plugin.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.
