35 years ago Waldorf Music released its first instrument, the Microwave, which took the hearts of the leading musicians and producers of the nineties by storm. Its vibrate and distinctive sound transported the early wavetable sounds of the eighties into the rising electronic dance music of the following decade. Massive base lines, enigmatic wavetable modulations, brutal attacks and pads smooth like silk have been inspired generations of musicians. Microwave’s unique interpretation of wavetable synthesis combined with analogue filters defined what hybrid synthesis is at its best.

Now’s the time to bring back this magical instrument in a software form to the digital workstations of producers and musicians world-wide. The Waldorf Microwave 1 Plugin was painstakingly recreated from the original hardware with all its idiosyncrasies and wonderful singularities.

R2R repacks everything to their own installer and includes a keygen, BUBBiX keeps the original installer and attach the patched DLL but they do not offer a keygen

if you want original retail installers use the BUBBiX release and register with R2R Keygen, after all no binary patch from R2R is required in this case

those are remodeled on the original DSP code from the hardware Microwave I by Waldorf, they are a true 90s product.

Other than nostalgia, this plugin is underwhelming. For the price, its worth stretching for Pigments, I played the presets and my fart sounds better. They didn't tweak with with some fx options. At least Arturia added something to the original functions of their emulations. Waldorf software has been lacking. I hope they don't think the hardware brand will carry them forever.

But what does Pigments has to do with Microwave? You're just comparing synths for the sake of synths lol. If that's the case I think Phase Plant is much better. Pigments is annoyingly heavy, has a considerable loading time and a rather underwhelming additive engine.

It is a great synthesizer, being the evolution of the PPG Wave, the great development of Wolfgang Palm (the wavetable synthesis) and whether you like it or not the PPG and the Waldorf synthesizers are a very important part of the history of synthesizers as much as a minimoog. The wave oscillators are very particular and the digital aliasing gives it that special bite. The filter in conjunction with the oscillators gives it that characteristic fatness. Many people only listen to presets and think it's basic, but if you really take your time and program it you can find a wonderful synthesizer.
