In 2019 I had the incredible opportunity to acquire an Ursa Major Stargate 323 in mint condition for a very affordable price. The unit I bought previously belonged to the Institute of Musicology at the Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz and I really have to thank Dr. Albert Gräf and his team at the Computer Music Research Group

Because this reverb is quite special and very rare, I'm doing everything I can to preserve it and share as much information about it, as possible.

This plugin is an authentic emulation of my Ursa Major Stargate 323 Reverb. It is based on over 2 years of work, which included a detailed analysis of the original circuit logic and filters, as well as the actual eprom data.

I've never used the hardware (the pricing is a slight deterrent ) but I was aware of this unit, so I'll be curious to see how it performs.

Downloaded this a couple of months ago and was really surprised over how good it sounds. Especially on vocals! Sounds like a mix between a slap delay and reverb. Really enforces the sound of a vocal.

I quickly noticed that it's unusable though because you can't have a loop set when you use it. As soon as the loop ends and starts over SG-323 causes a massive volume spike. It does the same when you disable and re-enable either the Noise or 16-bit option (IIRC). My amateur DSP guess is that it has something to do with it not flushing the delay buffer correctly when a DAW is set up to loop a clip or the whole timeline, so every delay repeat that didn't get to play before the end of the loop quickly builds up and is played simultaneously when the loop starts over (but like I said, this is just a guess).

Edit: Just tried looping silence to see if the problem still happens, and it does. The issue has to be something else.
