I find these things useful. Its absolutely impossible, or at least to much frustration, to try and get a singer or rapper to do what they need to do over the music. Without just having to do it yourself, or let them make their own beats.

But you actually CAN just sing yourself. Let alone with all that pitch correction software, but Jimi Hendrix didn't have a great voice, he just had a very soulful and expressive voice. And it sounded better for that then the horribly warbling Maria Carey.
