Introducing Mininn Drum, a versatile drum machine plugin meticulously crafted as an homage to the iconic Linn Drum. This innovative plugin offers a fusion of nostalgia and modernity by presenting three distinct sound ROMs curated to provide a comprehensive sonic experience reminiscent of the famed drum machine.

Mininn Drum presents users with three unique sound ROMs, each meticulously crafted to offer a diverse array of sounds. ROM 1 mirrors the classic LM-1 selection, while ROM 2 captures the essence of the 9000 Version, and ROM 3 introduces a custom adaptation of authentic 80’s drum sounds. This comprehensive collection caters to a wide spectrum of musical styles and preferences, delivering a versatile palette of drum tones.

Adding a layer of customization, Mininn Drum features a dedicated custom pad that empowers users to embed additional drum, bass, or any desired samples into their presets. This innovative feature expands the sonic possibilities, enabling musicians to infuse their creativity into their compositions.

With individual sound modification capabilities, users can finely tune each drum sound, adjusting parameters such as pitch, volume, and panoramic settings. This level of control allows for precise tailoring of sounds, ensuring they seamlessly integrate into compositions and suit the desired aesthetic.

The Linn LM-1 Drum Computer (conceived by Roger Linn) was the first drum machine to use digital
samples of acoustic drums. A lot of artists and bands like Human League, Michael Jackson, Prince,
Kraftwerk, Phil Collins, Genesis, Herbie Hancock and a lot of others used this drum machine on their records.
We adapt these sounds on a new instrument to offer the possibility to get the sounds of these rare drum machines embed in your setup.

are the roms just sampled or actual roms are being replayed internally by the plugin? if it is sampled then it is trash, nothing is better than the alyjames lab vprom.

The Conga L and Conga H show that it is just sampled, not modeled or emulated, an awful noise tail is audible in the Congas. Totally unusable.
VPROM doesn't exhibit such a problem at all.

They could have made this so much more interesting by adding LM-2 and the hard to find alternative Linn soundbanks. Luckily, there is already the VProm which loads custom ROMs.

True. I wouldn't be surprised if they just took a set of Linndrum samples from KB6 and wrap them in a GUI like this. One could get get same or better results using those samples with Sitala Speedrum (lite), or TAL-Drum. But this way is more fun.

Oh nice... Rick Astley's producer used it on Together Forever and Never Gonna Give You Up! Also Prince, Madonna, Human League, Depeche Mode, even really old Ministry. It was the main disco/dance drum machine of the time, as well as 808 in the 80s and 909 in the 90s. How appropriate. no, 303 wasn't popular in the 30s...

I cannot believe that the original LinnDrum had such an awful noise in the tails of kick samples.

do not use this crap, get Alyjames Lab VPROM , you will have CLEAR and ORIGINAL Linn's drum sounds as they are being read from the original rom that was extracted from the eprom of the real thing.

No, I'm not gonna use it. I'll just sample it, edit the tails properly and use the samples in Speedrum.

...also, this plugin plays short notes different than long notes (it fades out tails when playing short notes). This is not the way proper drum machines work - they always play a sample to the end.

From Aly, on YouTube 8 months ago: "VProm 3 is planned for late 2023."
Knowing Aly's work speed, we will be lucky if we put our hands on v3 before 2026...
