acceptable bass sounds to achieve, if it was 1995

So ... 1995 was the best time with the best people, with the best clubs, the best E´s, pure love between the people in the clubs, always new and great tracks - not only the 10th remix ... so ... i love retro, because this was really MY time ;-) I love it. And we are still alive :) Just some greets from south-west Germany to all :) I love you all - but of course R2R a bit more :) ...
I love R2R :)

Yes agreed and DJ´s in 1990is did not have the stupid need to interrupt their Mixes every 15-20seconds with retarded string breaks with stuttering noise uplifter to kill the fun for the dancing people that are standing on the danceloor bored looking around...

Today its like 20seconds beat then 1 minute stupid break then another 20 seconds beat for some dancing then another break for even 2 minutes.....

"Let it flow" is something that younger DJ´s in the clubs dont seem to understand..

(Stuttgart ruled btw, OZ, Zenith, Roxy, M21 etc etc)

you know, the breaks & uplifters are timed on the grid 99% of the time, you can keep dancing when they happen!

yes a lot of things were better in 1995, but one thing was definitely not better/easier/more accessible: PSYBASS SOUNDS, you needed a full studio, hardware

I like oldskool sounds as much a the next guy, but i use oldskool VST/HW to get that sound, not this terrible PSYTRANCE BASS sampler

Read up. Those boring/typical basslines were not common in 1995.
Listen to the album "Hallucinogen - Twisted". It was released in 1995. So much hard work being put down into tracks back then.

What a shitty VST btw, sample based. And why do people use the same kind of bassline in every fucking track nowadays?!

Because the talent for melodic´s almost vanished completely in the EDM scene i guess.

Monotonic tracks are easier and faster to create for many young producers.

Their sound mixing skills are therefore often much better than their melodic understanding.

Not only in EDM unfortunately...

Ooh, designed by a famous Psytrance artist eh :)

Is that artist embarrassed by their involvement in this plugin and insisted upon a non-disclosure agreement or are they happy about their involvement; in which case, why would they shirk such a marketing opportunity of having their name stuck on a plugin? Moreover if this "famous" artist was the sound designer it's 100% certain that Function Loops wouldn't pass up the opportunity of sticking their name on it.

Psytrance bass = Retriggered sawtooth waveform fed into a LPF with cut off frequency controlled by a fairly fast decaying ADSR with low sustain, keytrack the frequency if you like. Virtually any synth in existence can do that. If you wanna get fancy then lower the fundamental plus 4th or 5th harmonic if the synth is capable or use an eq. Add saturation if it tickles your aestheticles.

This is the way...

finally! Somebody hints at the secret sauce! I literally just made an account so I could say thank you, the advice in your comment is exactly what I wanted to read about and know about

I can watch that Tristan tutorial a million times and still feel like theres some other secret all the big name producers are in on, but, its just simply a dedicated pair of ears and a good synth.

Additionally I get the impression this VST ^^ is complete trash, which is a shame -- it seems more than a few people are trying to rush out a product as fast as they can in order to cash in on the Psytrance scene and its ever growing popularity, at least where im from
