Thanks for the heads up. I downloaded/installed the legit from Rhodes.. have decided to uninstall this and never use it. And really, I could definitely be wrong, but it doesn't seem very useful to me compared to something like Pancake2. Even if it is actually better for some reason, I don't like that it just installed this stuff without it saying anything in the installer (unless I missed that).. nor do I actually want them on my PC, even if this will work without them.

CodeMeter is a state-of-the-art copy protection system used by software vendors around the world. Some plugin developers choose to use it in their Gorilla Engine-based products to protect their code and audio sample data from software piracy. It is used in conjunction with our Gorilla Manager app which ensures that software is licensed and authorized to run on a computer.

What exactly do they do?

• CodeMeter handles the actual cryptography and checking of licenses.

• Gorilla Manager handles trial periods, authorization screens and more.

For your plugins to work properly, both of these applications must be running in the background. Note that these are lightweight applications that place little or no demands on your computer and store all information locally (no personal data is transmitted to the cloud).

Codemeter is a POS copy protection scheme - no idea what gorilla mangler is but I want nothing to do with either of em. The dev site requires a "checkout" process to be completed - forget it...
This one needs to be submitted to the witches for proper de-funk and de-bloat (541MB??? for a simple auto-panner wtf?? )...

I just downloaded it from the Dev site - checkout was fairly painless - you can put in whatever name, address and email you want and then proceed to download (copy the serial first, but if you forget, you can just go back to the page: it's still there).

As far as the copy protection scheme, that's good to know - I'll investigate a little first and see what else is said or shared about Gorilla Mangler etc in other forums before I install it. Thanks.

Okay, so Codemeter and Gorilla Manager are needed only upon installation-registration. Thereafter, you can delete the programs (though I'm sure some files lurk around somewhere, the bulk of the bloat can presumably be disposed of). I'll run a test after Xmas and see what difference that makes in terms of disk space used (and freed).

Actually, the program won't work in Codemeter is not running in 'Services', for Windows.
I've tried it. Disabling it to auto run is one option and setting it to manual. Gorilla can be removed once installed.
However, like others, I personally don't want a piece of software with such a short footprint itself that requires almost a gig's worth of other space taken, and Codemeter running.
I appreciate that they've offered it free, however.

Even if you legitimately activate with your own reg and disable all that malware running in the background at login afterwards, you cannot run the plugin without it failing and crashing Logic

On top of this, Rhodes don't even provide an uninstaller.

To uninstall codemeter, you need to go to Codemeter and Open the Support & Downloads section of the Wibu-Systems website and download the CodeMeter User Runtime file, open the downloaded CmRuntimeUser*.dmg disk image and run CmUninstall.

Gorilla can be dumped from the apps menu and then of course just delete the usual plugins - highly recommend audio plugin uninstaller if you haven't already got it :p

understood. However this thing DOES in fact have a problem due to it installing garbage on an unsuspecting host system that could potentially compromise said system. The missing uninstaller signals that it was fully intended to be difficult to get rid of... Is it a virus? No not per se. However corporate spyware is definitely closer to the truth.

Ok , so late to this, but testing and it does sound good but has issues other than already mentioned, first the good, yes i cant reproduce this sound, if you switch in to mono you can hear that it does tremolo still. Now the the bad, why does it drop the single? its like -3db lower and a width would be nice, keeping it for now. As it does make an Epiano sound better, I'm using airwindows everytrim after to boost volume and control width.
