Waldorf PPG Wave 2.V Soundbanks

The following list describes the PPG Wave 2.V soundbanks and introduces their programmers. Please note that not all soundbanks contain 128 sounds. You can use the empty program slots to create your own sounds.

Historic Soundbanks
The sounds in this sets don't have descriptive names because the PPG Wave 2.3 didn't offer naming of sounds. The PPG Wave 2.3 furthermore only had 100 sounds per bank. Michael Johnson, who transcripted the sounds from his PPG Wave 2.3 system parameter by parameter, added the Sounds 101 - 128 to each soundbank in the style of the respective set.

Andrew Thomas 1985.fxb
Contains sounds from Andrew Thomas created in 1985. He was the PPG's US product specialist at that time.

Factories 1984.fxb
This was the preloaded factory set of the PPG Wave 2.3. It was created in 1984 and included some sounds that showed the sample playback feature of the PPG Wave 2.3.

Volker Barber 1984.fxb
Volker Barber worked for PPG as a demonstrator. He also wrote one edition of the PPG Wave manual. This soundbank from 1984 was a nice complement to the factory soundbank.

DKDent alias Dirk Krause, is a member of the German industrial music band Armageddon Dildos. He works as a freelance sound programmer and demonstrator for Waldorf.

Michael Johnson works as a musician in Los Angeles, California. The soundbank was originally created on one of his PPG Wave 2.3 and he copied the sounds to the PPG Wave 2.V one by one.
