wow, brings back memories. My fist sound card was a SW1000XG & used this editor.

I'm still waiting for someone to do a soft version of my SW1000XG. Had to buy a MU100 to replace it, but I hate hardware gear.

I sampled the Yamaha SW1000XG but I think it's around 30GB+ if I remember right and I did add to torrents once but not much interest and only basic sampling

Do you still have it? Would love a copy!!

Yes of course but it's 33.3GB... I think I sampled too many keys. I'm not sure how to upload on here but think I could manage a Torrent and you could maybe use AllDebrid or RealDebrid to grab what you want. Will send you link by PM when it's done and feel free to share on here if you like for others. I also sampled the Yamaha CS6x and Roland JV-880 which I still own both of.

Do the S-YXG soft synths not cover it?

Thanks for mentioning the soft synth as I didn't know until I saw both comments under this post that the VSTi's S-YXG50 and S-YXG2006LE existed so will be checking those out. Much appreciated :-)

Those soft synths don't contain the MU100 exclusive sounds, which are annoyingly the best part of the SW1000XG soundset!!! Is a bummer.

brings back memories to me too. I had the DB50XG daughter card installed on the Diamond Monster MX300 (Aureal). For those times it was an excellent solution for having audio and midi. Yamaha's XG protocol had tons of parameter and item configuration options (it was full of options....) and it was a problem to send plain sysex signals through DAW every time to configure them (after reading the manual) so this program was very useful at time and probably now too if you still have XG cards in use somewhere. By the way I still have both cards. Both work perfectly. I installed the DB50XG on a fully-weighted hammer-action master keyboard that had the waveblaster connector so I can use it even when it is not connected to the PC.

Hi, for the DB50XG you need XG-Gold. Than you can make and edit 4-Voices Tones (ok, they are splitted over 2 MIDI Channels)

or try this - freeware but Good.

anyone have this ?
scedit v211 from the same. It was for Roland sound Canvas 50-55 stuff

Are you sure it was called scedit and not SFEdit2?

with the DB50XG surely XG-Gold is even more complete to check the parameters, in fact as you said you can also access to the emulation of the 4 voices in QS300 mode using the DB50XG. In the past I used also this one.

The latest version has always remained the 1.01 (Radium) that you know of?
I haven't looked for decades now. Since I installed it on the master keyboard, I have only used it without a connection to the PC and therefore with the "basic" voices.

I had already downloaded the XG Manager (to keep it) even though It was recent and I never tried it. Good to know that is a valid alternative to XG Gold.

Thanks for the helpful indications on these programs! they will certainly be very useful to everyone who still has these "old" (but reliable...almost 30 years old) Yamaha audio cards and daughterboards.

I checked in my archives but unfortunately I don't have the scedit v211 for Roland GS

I had both too the DB50XG before the SW1000XG but sold now... I did sample it though but around 30GB+

DB50XG had just 4MB ROM, What did you sampled?
  Resident 18.11.2019 78

The whole SW1000XG sounds, drums etc. but think I sampled too many keys and why so big... I still have the samples on my drive and sometimes use it if an old project comes up using those sounds

Aah, the SW1000XG. I also have Guilemot Maxi Studio Sound ISIS running at WIN98SE. But the latency is a shit (+45ms)

Yeah it's amazing they got so many sounds out of that wavetable. Wish someone could back engineer it.

I had a DB50XG and XG-Gold, so much more powerful than the crappy SW1000XG. XG Gold had far more control over the sounds and you had QS300 mode - masses of great presets in XG Gold, which the crappy SW1000XG couldn't match.
The SY-XG50 soft synth is an EXACT copy of the DB50XG, by the way - I recorded loads of XG MIDI songs through my DB50XG and saved them as MP3s - they sound exactly the same when playing the MIDI through the SY-XG50 soft synth. The CPU on my i7 4790 never goes above 1% even when playing the most complex music through it.

Thanks for mentioning the soft synths as I had both DB50XG then sold it to get an SW1000XG and sampled it 33.3GB before selling that but didn't know until I saw both comments under this post that the VSTi's S-YXG50 and S-YXG2006LE so will be checking those out. Much appreciated :-)

Google "Tyrus VST"
They wrapped Yamaha Tyros sounds in the S-YXG VST.
It's still 32bit but sounds amazing.
Heimorgel forever!

Yeah wish they had those MU100 sounds though. I ended up just buying a hardware Mu100, but I hate hardware, such a PITA to load up. Wish there was a way of extracting the soundset using AI or something.

Yeah unfortunately, the 'MU100 exclusive' sounds aren't included in any of these soft synths...
  Resident 20.06.2015 145

Anyone know if the MU100 exclusive sounds were used in any other syths or softsyths? Maybe the Motu or something?
