Dynamic equalizer
DSEQ is a dynamic processor working in the frequency domain.DSEQ removes digital harshness on the fly thanks to self-adjusting frequency bands.

DSEQ can be used in all mix and master situations:

- de-essing vocals
- taming resonances in e.g. drum, guitar, vocal recordings
- removing digital harshness
- balancing the mix
- de-masking frequency regions
- support of pink noise mixing/mastering

DSEQ works fully in the frequency domain, providing very high frequency selectivity thanks to self-adjusting dynamic equalizers. DSEQ does its job with highest transparency even pushed hard. This avoids distortion, phasing and artefacts even with very critical sound material. And DSEQ offers several quality modes taming even singular frequencies.

On top DSEQ provides a very easy to use interface. With just a few parameters (threshold, selectivity and attack/release) a broad range of applications can be covered. Even the initial parameter set could make your mix more transparent. Just pick the threshold parameter and lower it step by step. From there you can start focusing on specific frequency regions by using the pre-filters.

DSEQ comes with AB-LM Lite providing perceptual loudness matching.

DSEQ supports custom threshold which turns DSEQ into a smart multiband compressor.

DSEQ2 introduces the smart AI function and a corresponding GUI page to setup DSEQ automatically depending on the input material.

DSEQ3 introduces gain-reduction spectrograph and free GUI scaling and resizing.

I use both. For some situations in the mix DSEQ is better while for others soothe2 gets me quicker and subjectively better sounding results.

You need to judge "by ear"

soothe for me, because minimal resources used, and i only use for small touch in buses (like gtr bus or vocal bus...) for tracking i Will choose repeat record if you need another tonal balance...

i think you need to test both and find yout way.... all people have different workflows....

Both are great, but DSEQ is a bit more versatile. I use Soothe when I want to kill resonances (since that was it's original use) and DSEQ for everything else (sidechaining/de-masking, tone sculpting/balancing, some de-essing etc). You can use them more or less interchangeably though.

soothe, more smooth and soft. Depends. This sometimes tends to be extremely surgical / less musical.

fuck yes! been waiting for this update for so long. thank you decibelle and r2r for the amazing gift. dseq3 is a miracle worker but the previous version was way too slow to load and work with. hopefully that’s solved.

Sooooo glad to see this one! This combined with Soothe+Spectralayers you have a nearly limitless toolset for cleaning up and polishing audio, DECIBELLE and r2r always coming through with the masterclass! Truly grateful for all you, you make life better for countless people, and if no one has told you guys that recently, you deserve to know that.

On another note, now it may just be me wearing my conspiratorial hat, but with this and the continually increasing numbers of iLok2-protected releases, i have a feeling that the witches have Soothe in their sights as well. Could just be my wishful thinking tho! A man can dream!! lol
