Be careful, this destroyes clear and already good signal into a mesh of spineless, transientless and a chorus-like mess-up that does only sound like shit on BOTH mono and stereo ;)

Seriously though. I almost never find it useful since. :/
Only works on pads and reverb tails...things that already lacks transients and clearity.

All stereo plugins change the sound, but this one doesn't destroy it, in fact it's among the best. For the transient problem you can use a transient shaper after it. The chorus problem isn't real

Seriously man +1 on this. I know a lot of ppl that put tools like this cranked on every channel then wonder why they can never get the mix to sit quite right. Once you learn to hear how imagers blur you can use them to your advantage in creating depth (very conservatively ofc). I tend to do the same thing theyre great for throwing on reverb sends in a dense mix.

Not true. Wider only affects the Side channel, so when summed to Mono, you just get the original signal. It can be messy in stereo when overdone, that's true, but it really truly doesn't affect mono signal at all.

This plugin gets use even though I own Boz's Mongoose and Brainworx' bx_control, both which have more features, that said, it's always weird to me seeing people creating this mystique around each of them, like the one being discussed is either the only one that performs properly, or it does something vastly different than all the others. Neither is the case—nonetheless, this is a great, no-brainer plugin.

"Wider" is absolutely fine as far as phase goes, all of Boz Millar's stuff is always quality, no phase issues there, and Brainworx basically heralded in the M/S movement in the oughts, so it's safe to say they're solid. I keep those around (and a few more,) because of the different features. This one is bare-bones, but sometimes that's all that's needed.
Also, if you want to have fun with this type stuff, go grab Voxengo's MSED, which is free; it's not exactly a widener, but it's a useful M/S tool that might end up being useful to you if you're playing with the stereo field.

Glad to turn you on to it. It's been a go-to of mine for ages, super gentle on CPU and it's usually all that's necessary, short of some crazy sound design. Honestly? I assumed Boz Millar's plugin line was plastic crap before I tried it, because of the corny UI's (especially the old ones,) but it's all quality stuff with absolutely unobtrusive copy protection so, even though I'm on AZ because I'm a broke bastard, I actually buy his stuff when it goes one sale.

hoping for a full bundle update from V.R or Mocha. Not feeling like want to mix this up with the k'd bundle I have installed. Really like the plugin. Does it recall perfectly with the previous version ?
