Fascinating. I've got a legacy record collection filling my garage, I have to digitize it, but do people still make records for any reason anymore? Outside of boutique collectorism.

Its difficult to find an official vinyl release of anything after the early 90's, when the industry began forcing CD adoption. It was cheaper and easier to have to find a bootleg. For mixing and scratching. But you dont need vinyl to mix or scratch anymore. You dont even need CD's to mix or scratch anymore. There seems like no NECCISARY reason for hard copies anymore.

Are they still doing DMC's? I guess they might need vinyl for battle tool records, but wouldn't have much to do with the sound quality of the record. You WANT a trash record for abuse like that. Fascinating never the less.

I know that a lot of local studios (Asheville, NC) have their own lathes and offer that as a service to the recording artists. I wouldn't consider it a necessity, but a great studio feature nonetheless. I assume there's still a decent-sized market for software like this.

Hard to find? Probably depends on the genre. I've got 2 records stores under 1km from the apartment that sell hundreds of freshly released vinyl LP's. At least on heavy/metal genre the format is soundly alive.
Had even my own bands previous album released also on vinyl and the new one will be as well.
This of course can be labeled under collectorism as well.

Fantastic. I wish I had something like this when I did a vinyl mastering for a friend of mine a few years ago. There is still a world of DJs out there who like to use vinyl exclusively. I would like to say that watching the best artists playing their playlists on vinyl made me realize how almost completely necessary it is to start with vinyl if you want to become a good and complete DJ. I'd certainly recommend it to my son if he ever wanted to try his hand at that profession seriously. Working with vinyl makes you feel on your skin what time, bpm, sync are, as well as accompanying you in the knowledge of music, different genres and bands of the past, with a healthier as well as fascinating approach.

Metaphorically speaking, vinyl is like preparing lunch at home, with real food and ingredients whose quality and origin you know deeply. Digital is like going to eat at fast-food restaurant...

This software is amazing, lucky us who didn’t need to spend 600eur on this Gem.

Vinyl is still pressed all around the world, in fact most pressing plants have so much work lately that deliver times are taking between 6 to 9 months or even more… definitely not a dead industry/market.

Truth. I was just talking with an artist this last summer whose band literally had zero tracks recorded or mixed but had already set a pressing date. He was like "Everyone's pressing vinyl and there's only a handful of places that I'd trust with pressing my music [in the U.S.] so I literally have the eight months wait time to get this album finished and prepared."
