MOCHA | WiN/Mac/Linux Retail | 13.02 MB
Introducing the ultimate mastering tool. Ranked #3 in the top 7 multiband compressors by Integraudio. This versatile mastering compressor can handle even the most dynamic of tracks. Convergence features up to 10 bands of compression and as low as 2 bands. Does your track only need a 4 band compressor? No problem! It is trivial to add or remove bands and to adjust the crossover frequencies for them.

Key Features
- Up to 10 bands of compression
- Adjustable crossovers
- Bands can be added or removed
- Attack/Release envelope visualizer
- Compression Curve visualizer
- Gain Reduction over time visualizer
- Oversampling up to 8x
- Linkable controls
- Soloable bands

The Compressors

Convergence uses crossover filters with -6dB gain at the crossover frequency that sum together to create a perfectly flat frequency response. These -6dB crossovers also introduce the least amount of phase shift possible while still being low on CPU usage. The compressors are designed to have a digital feel to their attack and release timing to be as precise as possible.

The Displays

Convergence comes with several displays that are fine tuned to help you visualize what effect your tweaks have on the incoming audio. The main display is a spectral analyzer with controls to adjust the crossovers for each band. This allows you to easily dial in the frequencies based on which frequencies are most prominent. Each band also has an envelope display, a compression display, and a gain reduction display. The envelope display helps give you an idea of how attack and release times will affect the compression. The compressor display shows how the threshold and ratio controls will affect the compression as well by graphing input versus output levels. Finally the gain reduction display shows input levels and output levels over time so that you can easily see transients and how they are being affected by the compressor.

Soloable Bands

One of the most useful features of Convergence is the ability to solo bands. You can simply hold down the control key and left-click a band to solo it to really dial the compressor settings. Multiple bands can be soloed simultaneously.

MOCHA is a new hero who gives us rare plugins that other hackers won't even pay attention to. Thank you for that!

Enjoy! I rather stick with more famous ones...

There are so many plugins out there, which havnt been released, its not a matter of paying attention, its a matter of time and resources and how they are protected.

But yes still thank you to MOCHA.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

i wonder why there arent as manys multiband compressors out there as eqs and regular comps.. if sonible would make a multiband compressor that would be dope

McDSP's one is still rock these days!

Compression is already one of the hardest audio production DSP problems to get right. Naive compressors look at the digital waveform verbatim which fail to react properly since it's not reacting to what you actually hear. Better compressors will attempt to recreate the true waveform (what exits the DAC). I cannot stress enough how difficult it is to do this correctly and in real time. Most compressor plugins fail at this point.

If there's sidechain, guess what? It has to recreate that as a true waveform as well.

Dynamics is a non-linear operation so a plugin needs to address the distortion that creates. Many developers will opt for oversampling but that alone is not sufficient to match analog performance.

Now you want to make this multiband, so you are performing these operations as many times as many bands and sidechains as you have. Then you need to figure out how you are going to split the bands and recombine non-linear signals without causing all sorts of problems at the crossovers (and how to deal with the aliasing that is bouncing back).

Of course, that doesn't stop developers from releasing incompetent plugins that hundreds of people blissfully use unaware. But if a developer has integrity they'll avoid it if they're not capable yet or explain the deficiencies.

Well :
▸ IRCAM / Flux Alchemist v3
▸ ToneBoosters' new MBC Multi Band Compressor
▸ Acon Digital Multiband Dynamics
▸ MAGiX Multiband Dynamics

are " dope " .

EDIT : MAGiX Multiband Dynamics is part of Samplitude and Sequoia exclusively.

thanks for the tips does the magix multiband come as seperate vst or only in samplitude?

Your question made me edit my post : MAGiX Multiband Dynamics is part of Samplitude and Sequoia only, not as plugin, sorry.

It looks like this :=>

When one clicks on " Edit " for the limiter ( red circle ), it'll open a new window : " Advanced Dynamics " ( at right here ) with even more options.
