So....a requirement is to have a guitar with a dual output...one for each pickup?!

The first time I've heard of it was from Billy Sheehan (Bass) in a tutorial I found here, it's very cool, but yeah, not that common

All Rickenbackers have it :) I think that was what inspired Billy to convert his p-bass, iirc.

My '68 Rickenbacher had stereo outputs but that was long ago and faraway.

this could also be useful if, for whatever reason, you wanted to isolate a stereo .wav file down into either left mono only or right mono only (or fade between the two in mono). not a common use case and there are definitely JS plugins with reaper that could easily do the same thing. but interesting to not alternative uses besides just for stereo guitar file.
