Waves Audio SSL 4000 Bundle GUI Redesigned (SSL Comp GUI FREE) screenshot
GUI Skin | 1.37 MB
This is a Waves Audio's GUI SSL 4000 plugin bundle redesign, SSL Comp GUI is available for FREE . I´ve redesigned the GUI Skin for looking as close as possible to the SSL G Comp.

I used Blender 2.9 for the 3D and Photoshop for the final details, getting a very realistic visual content.

I have not created the plugin, it is owned by WAVES AUDIO, I have only redesigned the GUI Skin to give it a more vintage and comfortable visual vibe.

There are more skins in development that will be available to all who subscribe with donations. I appreciate the support to continue doing these two things that I am passionate about; graphic art and music.

How to apply the new GUI:

Windows

1. Open Explorer to C: / Programs (x86) / Waves / Plug Ins V10 (or v11)/ PluginName.bundle / Contents

2. Make a copy of the existing PNG_.zip, and GUIXML folders and put into a personal backup folder in case you want to go back to the old skin.

3. Copy the 3 Files provided in the correct folders and places according its names, GUIXML and PNG_.zip (this last one must be in .zip), put inside the specific Waves Plugin Content folder and close explorer.

4. Open your DAW of choice and you can now use the skin I made.

Mac OS X

1. Open Applications / Waves / Plug Ins V10 (or V11) / Plugin Name.bundle, right clic and choose "Show package contents"

2. Make a copy of the existing PNG_.zip and GUIXML folders and put into a personal backup folder in case you want to go back to the old skin.

3. Copy the 3 Files provided in the correct folders and places according its names, GUIXML and PNG_.zip (this last one must be in .zip), put inside the specific Waves Plugin Content folder and close explorer.

4. Open your DAW of choice and you can now use the new skin.

5. Enjoy it!

NOTE: tested in Waves v10 and v11, working on Soundgrid as well. Not working in Side Chain Mode into this specific plugins, CLA MixHub, Scheps Omnichannel because the size of the skin. I am making new skins for these ones and will be available for patreons suscribers soon.

Regards!

Would be awesome but unfortunately those plugins has a .rsrc or .nib compressing format , I try several times to uncompress them but without success cause inside it are the png images for remake, maybe someone with programming skills wants to help...

I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous, but since buying UAD I barely use the Waves G Comp, but this skin makes it sound better I swear hahaha and now I want to use it again.

I don´t know if it works on v9 just tested on v10 and v11 but I think so, just backup your original files and then apply the skins and see what happens, you can go back again to the original one btw...

Cheers!

Yes I know, but who cares? maybe I gonna make one for the SSL G comp Console ;)

Cheers!

Haha true, but the XLogic is made by SSL and they used the same analog circuitry as their original G Buss, so theoretically, the Waves is modelled on an SSL G Buss and so is the LogicX version so ... same same haha. Either way, great skin so who cares.

Just what I needed to get crosseyed while trying to determine the values on those knobs. I do like the choice of colours, but the monitor is flat.

I do admire your Photoshop skills, though. Maybe take up painting?
