one thing you could try, i learned from guys at audiiosex, ableton sometimes just doesnt scan it right, you can move the vst thats not being shown out of the folder. like move it to trash. rescan in ableton without it there. then restore everything from trash and rescan again.
or... if its tone2 products just do the move to trash, then empty trash. that should make all your projects sound better

I can load a sample but the sequencer doesn't run. I even tried the midi trigger mode.

If you're trying to load anything other than a break or a very short audio clip....forget about it.
I tried to load various audio files and even if you move the end marker it won't run.
If you're looking to chop songs to sample i suggest Serato Sample. Only bad thing about it is, it doesn't come in aax.
