Seems like that. As a hobbyist I avoid black box and "mojo" FX because i am trying to learn more. Of course using other tools i can see some results, and i could just trust my ears ... but i don't trust my ears that much. I can tell when something is very bad, but when it comes to good, better & best ..... hahha

Well, I took a ride with Essiah first and was quite satisfied. Works best at just near the max. settings (distortion-wise). It is rather fast. Measuring equipment showed an EQ rise of about +5 dB from 5kHz upwards, but after rendering a file, it was just somewhere about + 0.5 dB /4 kHz-20 kHz/.
Insignificant gain loss ~0.03 dB.
On hearing test - slightly, but convincingly improves transient response in the whole spectrum, as well as definition (highs especially).

Just tested one of them (Essiah) and it is good. But in a later test I noticed that it creates some odd bass boost, not connected with its main purpose ['Clean Up Higher Frequencies'].
I addressed that issue by using Voxengo Elephant plugin afterwards, and it brought the bass back to normal.
