There's nothing like it on the market, except maybe u-he Colour Copy, and Soundtoys Echoboy, which are both incredible in their own regard. I personally love Colour Copy, but this one is a different beast. It is not just a delay... so It's definitely worth having it!

I'm not a coder, but I'd assume V.R's approach is more ambitious. That of trying to crack the program without the need of a key gen. I wonder if that's the reason for the apparent higher failure rate.

Agreed. Sean Costello really does it as a labor of love and does FINE work, I have never regretted purchasing his plugins.

Hoooooo the tape algo for dub so crazy, i will buy it for sure, great work on this stuff, i'm rarely impressed by software tape delay but this one have this organic, dirt, crunchy vibe. WTF!!! it's a plugin?

I was gonna buy Lexicon MPX550 to use it as a hardware multi FX, but now I'm reconsidering it because this sounds so good. A little resampling through some outboard and it will sound indistinguishable from some heavyweight hardware like Eventide 4000 or similar.

It must be my English but I don't get the comparison between the Eventide and this p-i ? If you meant the Ultra-Harmonizers series ? Its (pure) delays (as such) are not so good, their sound neither. Now the reverbs and the pitches are still killer and the combination even more.
As for " similar " - example the TC 2290 - : not it even close. Not with 1 MHz sampling and its DACs. So its price today, more than 30 years after its initial release. But it's mono in ... and only good at what it's good at.



So as for this p-i, it's nice for what it is, it's different, it's fun, it's well done, it's cool, and 20 times cheaper for sure.
