DC8C is one of the most flexible compressors around.
While making a lot of different compression styles possible, it's general nature may be described as: clear, smooth, open, distinct.

The main goal while designing DC8C was to get a very clean compressor action without unwanted and often almost inevitable artifacts/distortion. This way you can achieve almost invisible compression for your most demanding mastering sessions, when you want to avoid coloration.

If you aim for color you can choose between two saturation models.
From opto-style, peak compression, external side-chaining, RMS compression, Feedback, Feedforward compression (and everything in-between) to negative ratios, zero latency brick-wall limiting, from snappy transient treatment to smooth transient rounding - everything is possible.

VU and peak metering
calibration control not only to set the reference level for the VU-meter and the saturation
unique Feedback-Mix-Control, which lets you determine, how much of the compressor's output is fed back into the detector. This way it is possible to morph between Feedback and Feedforward Compression topologies

- attack knob range is now 0 to 60 ms in Expert mode, if you need longer attack times, enable the x10 switch near the attack control to multiply the selected attack time by 10
- lowpass and highpass sidechain filters can be set to 12dB steepness
- limit mode switch has been moved to the OPERATION dropdown
- limit mode is a lot more tweakable than in previous versions, allowing for analog style non-brickwall limiting, best to be used in conjunction with the new soft clipper in the output section.
(limit mode can still be used as zero latency brickwall limiter if ATTACK, PRE-ATT, attack PROG-DEP and GR-SMOOTH are set to 0)
- revised compression algorithms
- revised EASY modes
- SMASH mode doesn't require min. 2x oversampling anymore
- VST3 support
- external sidechaining for all formats, including AAX
- support for ProTools' gain reduction meter in the mixer
- the AU-version now fully supports external sidechaining too, removing the need for the additional external-sidechain AU-version
- removed RTAS version
- due to the many changes and the use of a new framework, the new version has a new filename and plugin-ID, so both DC8C3 and the old DC8C2 can be used side-by-side in your projects

Really good compressor at a really, really reasonable price. Perhaps almost a theft.
I own SDRR and VUMT, and I'm 100% buying this one.

I cannot agree more with the above statements. it's dirt cheap and and amazingly clean compressor. This dev is amazing and needs every bit of support

I was waiting for this one. I like Klanghelm because they seem to listen to their customers and do more than revamp a GUI when they update their plugins.
And, as I mentioned above, Klanghelm makes great gear. They are on my list of companies/individuals who I compensate when I'm able to.

This comp is just amazing, even too cheap for the quality it delivers if you ask me. One of the few things that makes me start to feel bad after using for free for long time. You have no excuse not to support such indy small companies that brings top notch stuff to the market!
Kiddos, I can wipe my @$$ with your Slate crap, or your 50 shiny GUI'd Waves comps, all sounding like [50 shades of] plastic crap.
Please guys support this dev and buy it, you can't go wrong, if you want a good variety of flavours with 50$ you can get this and MJUC (I'm in love with it too!), and then you could trash all your other comps without missing any of them
