Abletunes team is pleased to announce that our firstofitskind initiative to create VST/AU FX plugins materialized and the plugins are ready for download. Some time ago we’ve decided to give it a try and finally completed the development of several nifty minitools we’d like to share as freeware. Do not expect anything mega fancy here though, it’s not the case (yet).

As you may understand from the titles Drive Knob is a stereo distortion unit, Attack Knob is a simplified transient shaper and Space Knob is a midsized stereo reverb.

These tools will help you to solve certain specific problems faster, spending less effort, especially during the production stage as sometimes you need to act fast to grab the mood and feel of the moment, leaving the finetuning for a mixdown stage. Apart from that — they may be handy in liveperforming situations so we do recommend to give them a try. Again — all three are free of charge.

They seem to be very similar to the Waves One Knob series - anybody compared those?

I tested it and its very different from waves one knob.

The driver vst is not as colored but it works pretty well for subtle enchancements soo if your looking for a very colored sound this cant give you that.

The spacer is a good reverb - im shocked! honestly lol

the attack knob is good for drums and bass if you want that extra snap :)

The concept is the same as with Waves OK Series. Yeah, I just did that compare them on Drums.

First off all, you've gotta check which of the Waves OK Series does what.

Abletunes Attack = not really an Equal Plugin in OK Series.

>> OK Series Plugins are primarily a combination of effects that happen at once and there really is no dedicated Transient Shaper in there.

Abletunes Drive ≠ One Knob Driver
Abletunes Drive ≠ One Knob Pressure, but
Abletunes Drive = One Knob Louder

>> OK Driver sounds more like Guitar Pedelas and a Cabinet. "Driver is an analog-style processor inspired by famous guitar overdrive pedals." So you can't compare it to that. You also can't compare it to OK Pressure, because that basically is a Parallel Comp that changes the Attack Time as well, so you lose the transients the more you push it and it also changes the timbre a lot. OK Louder sounded the closest and most simillar overall.

Abletunes Space = OK Wetter. Same Principle here, basically: more = more and different reverb. I like Abletunes Reverb more for Drums.

Overall, I never used the OK Series because I just don't like what it does to the sound, but Abletunes I actually like and I can see myself usings those actually.
