You can use Maximal to catch rampant peaks in an audio recording, or you can use it to make your track loud - it's up to you how you push it.

I used it as a clipper and worked perfectly.
I didn't really tried to modify sound with it.

It doesn't have any presets ASAIK.

It's a mastering limiter The whole point is to save your own once registered.

Thanks for that. It works in samplitude, win x64.
It does the job, you can tweak a couple of things, but it is a pretty basic limiter (the exiter is a nice addition). Most included single band limiter in daws (like sMax11 for Samplitude) should pretty much do the same. The more advanced ones (DMG limitless, Ozone maximizer, Mc DSP ML4000 or nugen ISL2 or even the waves stuff) usually offer more options and may get better results imo.
