Synister was developed by TU-Berlin students under the supervision of Marc as part of a Student project from the Quality and Usability Lab.
The synthesizer features 3 oscillators with ADSR envelopes, multi-mode LFO’s, 2 filters (Ladder/BP/HP/LP), various fx (delay, chorus/flanger, lofi & clip), and a step sequencer with random sequence generator.

I wonder why we can see some free stuff from German universities,
but French IRCAM (Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics and Music) is all pay software, when IRCAM is supported by French people's taxes ....

IRCAM is simply a much higher league, so to speak, with a well-established place in the history of electroacoustic and electronic music. The level of innovation and solutions they provide is simply outstanding. The money they earn and receive support not only further software development but also music education and creative work which is of the highest standards. BTW, you don't expect companies like Waves to give away their stuff for free, do you? ;-)

This is not from the university itself, it's just a project of some (former?) students of the TU. At least here in Germany Universities don't develop commercial software.
And even IRCAM is not a university, but a research institute. Different things. :)

But IRCAM is financed by public money, their offices are in the Pompidou Modern Art Center, which belongs to French State, so they should not charge for their plugins.

@ line.level Wave is a commercial company and never received any help form people's taxes. Ircam is financed by French People taxes, so you cannot compare their situation.
