Check your mixes in Chris Lord-Alge’s studio

CLA Nx brings Grammy®-winning mixer Chris Lord-Alge's famed Mix LA studio control room to any pair of headphones – so you can monitor reliably on headphones and make better mixing decisions anywhere, anytime.

After faithfully modeling Chris’s console and classic hardware gear in previous plugins, Waves and CLA have finally teamed up to replicate Chris’s room acoustics and monitoring system. The CLA Nx plugin combines Waves Nx spatial audio technology with precise measurements of Mix LA, to model the acoustic response of Chris’s mix room inside any set of headphones.

Built by premier studio designer Vincent Van Hoff, Mix LA has been Chris Lord-Alge’s studio since 2008. This is the room he has trusted to deliver mixes for Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, Muse and countless top artists.

Chris’s complete monitoring setup is now available over any headphones via CLA Nx. This includes the acoustic response of Chris’s NS10-modeled CLA-10 nearfield monitors, coupled with his subwoofer system; his custom-built Ocean Way farfield speakers, modified to his specs; and even the boombox model he relies on to check how his mixes will translate to small-speaker devices.

With CLA Nx you can:

Trust your headphone mixes to translate reliably to diverse sound systemsReference your tracks on an expertly calibrated monitoring environmentMake better decisions on headphones about mix depth, stereo imaging, low-end response, reverb amount & moreIf your room doesn’t have great acoustic treatment – now you can monitor through CLA’s expertly designed Mix LA acoustics on your headphones. Even if you do have a well-treated mix room – CLA Nx gives you another great reference environment to check your mixes.

CLA Nx is powered by Waves’ pioneering Nx technology for immersive spatial audio. Waves Nx uses channel crosstalk, inter-aural delays (ITD), filters (ILD), early reflections, and head motion tracking to replicate the immersive experience of hearing audio in the real world. All these are coupled with precision acoustic measurements of Mix LA, to deliver a faithful three-dimensional “out-of-head” representation of the real room.

CLA Nx also supports head tracking – via your webcam or the dedicated Waves Nx Head Tracker Bluetooth device – for enhanced realism of the immersive three-dimensional spatial effect.

For all those who still have problems with the AAX format but also with the remaining formats, try this:

sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer

or:

killall WavesLocalServer & rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer

Open the Terminal application, copy the first script and insert it in the terminal window, press enter, enter the password if required (the user password of your mac) and that's it. If that doesn't work, you can try the second script as well.
Run Pro Tools or other Daw that doesn't work with waves and scan again the plugs format you are interested in (AAX, AU, VST, VST3).
This procedure could help solve the validation problem.
Obviously it must be applied after patching the waves in the correct way!

Good luck bros!

Your first terminal script directions worked for me perfectly on my Mac Pro running Catalina. Finally, I have VSTs validated in version 12 Waves. Works in latest Digital Performer 11, latest Reason 11 as well. Prior to this, I only had AUs.
Thank you for your solution!!!
It's the one that's worked for me after trying many approaches and versions of Waves 12.

For AU Mac
1. Install the plugins you want via Waves Central.
2. Use the updated patch included as per instructions.

I can happily verify for those of you on a Mac, that this terminal script WORKS! The first one worked perfectly for me ! I'm on OS Catalina and now have VSTs working in latest versions of Digital Performer and Reason. Latest version of Logic Pro X works as well.
This is the first time I've been able to validate VSTs in any version of Waves 12 after trying many approaches and versions of Waves 12 and failing every time.
Just follow the original installation instructions in this version exactly as written. Then apply the terminal script command as your final step!

Hi bro,

You can try this:

1) Quit all running programs/applications except for Waves Central.

2) Access Waves Central’s Settings tab, then press Clear next to ‘Clear Central cache.’

3) This error may also occur if the sample library location is not accessible to Waves Central. Access Waves Central’s Settings tab, then press Change next to ‘Sample libraries data folder.’Set the location to: Applications > Waves > Data > Instrument Data.

4) Restart your machine.

5) Uninstall any previously installed Waves products.

6) Re-install as many Waves products as you want (online or offline)

7) Perform the Patching procedure (in case the installation was successful)

And that's it....

Good Luck!

Just to confirm this worked perfect for me for OS X, I have access to all plugin types on every DAW I need!

i installed this and i'm surprised that the plugins dont look upside down in pro tools 12, although, I was wondering where the preset browser tab feature for version 12.7 was. It seems missing on all the plugins and I am confused as to how
