Sample-based step sequencer and drum machine

Geist is an advanced step-sequencer and sample-based drum machine realised in software. It's intended to be an ergonomic way to effortlessly build grooves and beats. While it includes an extensive set of advanced integrated features, its layout is faster and more intuitive than the process of accomplishing similar tasks within a complex DAW with too many usually unnecessary features and options that intrude upon the creative process.

Geist lets you cut up loops and breaks and send them to pads with a single click! It delivers the flexibility you crave for really involved slicing operations, and an intelligent classify system to build kits from loops in seconds.

Geist can resample its output or sample external input. Record multiple takes and exact loops, sending them to the slicer with a few clicks. Whether you dig in crates or play synths, guitar or bass, Geist lets you inject sounds onto pads fast.

Geist's sound sculpting tools include stunning FX with DCAM modelled compression, filtering and drive. The pattern sequencer includes step-automation for parameters, real-time recording and retro capture, for laying down takes without pressing record first!

An integrated song mode lets you build complex, evolving pattern arrangements in a musical and fun way. Record pattern and scene triggers live, draw and edit parts directly on the linear timeline, or just jam away and capture your performance afterwards.

Geist's browser is built to make it faster than ever to find your sounds! Set up favourites, save searches, compare files from different folders in shortlists. You can even send previews through a discrete output, perfect for building beats in live scenarios.

With full MIDI and audio export, a variety of plugin formats and a standalone version, Geist is a complete rhythm production environment, primed to streamline your workflow and reawaken your love of making beats!

I just wanted to express a huge thank you to Team Xdb and Kook for this. I've been searching for a better way to program drums in Logic for a long time now and this is the shit! Geist is exactly what I've been looking for. I wish I would have know about it sooner. I'm a new Audioz member and a very thankful one as well. Thanks Twathead, your technique worked perfectly!

Hey man, welcome to the forums. Yeah Geist is awesome, I've been recommending it on both forums for a long time now. Speaking of which AudioSex has a lot of info that you would no doubt find useful, you can ask questions, cool people, etc. You can actually see some topics in the feed above. Drop by sometime.

Regarding "Geist Failed to load the REX DLL"
Navigate to Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/ and delete the Rex folder. Download and install the Rex 1.7 Library from https://www.propellerheads.se/support/user/recycle/general-recycle/rex-shared-library/
After installing the Rex 1.7 Library the Rex folder should be there again. Make sure that permissions for the new Rex folder are Read/Write for everyone. Restart your DAW and Geist should load without issues. This solution worked beautifully for me on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8
