I live in the country and thus I have friends who hunt. A few years ago I made arrangements with a friend that he could hunt on my land if when he got a deer we could record all aspects of butchering it. A week or so later he was successful and with several recorders we (Mark Filip and Matt Snedecor and myself) captured every part of butchering the deer. We were respectful of the process and when it was finished made a very good meal as well. We were thankful for the food and the results are both incredible as design elements but also as a reference. This is very much what the real thing sounds like.

In two folders these 471 files are all 24/96. They were recorded with a Schoeps and Neumann Microphones as well as a Zoom and a Sony D-50. We used a Sound Devices 744t with some Pre-Amps on the front end. All files have complete metadata embedded with Sound Miner.

Seriously? Don't drag everyone else into this by adding "us," as though this is some morally obligatory stance; this is your subjective view. It could easily be argued that in this, it's being used even more fully, à la making jewelry from bones. Besides, I'd place a very large wager on the fact that, like me, the deer couldn't care less about what happens to its body after it's dead.

Actual sounds of murder... that's kind of dark but like sound designers will look for anything ... I remember Omnisphere had burned a piano and played it just to get a sound so like idk but I will never listen to this not even the demo

I am too, but I find it hypocritical when people (non vegans) are so disturbed by "art" stuff that involves killing animals for pleasure, but are fine with killing animals for taste (also pleasure).

I'm vegan, too, and glad to see this many dislikes for this absolutely ridiculous and disgusting sample pack. What are people supposed to do with it? Music?! I have been a vegetarian practically my whole life, and a vegan since 2009. I'm also an animal activist... this makes my stomach go upside down... like WTF!?

Even if this is a joke it's absolutely not funny anyway: "This deer was legally hunted and then butchered (in my living room) and we recorded it from several perspectives with several recorders.

Yes this is a deer being dismembered. Peeling the hide off the carcass is an amazing sound. Some good punches into the carcass as well as real bone breaks and gory movement recorded from inside the chest cavity."
