exactly

but i must confess i find it really strange, from access... the virus ti was released almost 12 years ago... ti2, keyboards, polar, etc, but still a TI.

i don't know why they're taking soo soo long to announce a new synth...
since 3,4, +5 years, it looks like people are going back to roots, and started buying tons of outboard gear. again. including synths.

but even for a company like access, it must be hard to design a new hardware synth, that dozens, or maybe, hundreds thousands people all over the world will buy, like the TI.

computers have become so so powerful, algorithms are almost perfect, that can replicate the smallest component or behavior of a particular piece of gear...

almost no limit, to store billions of samples... tons of ram...+4GHz cpus and tons of cores...

for example, omnisphere is a fantastic hybrid , samples + oscillators, that can make trillions of fantastic sounds, all different.
now, omnisphere 2 is going to DESTROY everything. it will have the v1 features, and will now have +400 waveforms, compared to the saw, triangle, sin and square from v1... + all the other announced features,
i must say it's the first time i wish i could fast-travel, until the v2 release day, and buy it.

that thing is going to destroy spires, zebras, massives, sylenths, synthmasters, pretty much everything.
it will be capable of creating all the sounds the other synths do, and many more. i have never been this excited, about something music related, as i am, with omnisphere 2. i will sell whatever i can, to be able to buy it day one.
i think it's going to be a super hybrid, capable of the best from the sample world, + the synthesis world.

why this long comment here, about omnisphere ?

because..
how could access-music create something like omnisphere 2 ? or like Spire ? or even a synthmaster ?

i mean, access synths are fantastic... but if we take 100 pads and 100 basses, they will all share 95% of the features.. of the access sound...etc. impossible to create sounds like Razor, etc.

all current vstis, even 3-5 years old, can easily replicate the virus architecture, and create sounds +90% identical.
even some freewares can do it as well.

that's why i don't imagine what access-music could bring to the scene...
will people spend another 2500-3000 euros for a new Virus XXY, that can make the same sounds as Spire or Sylenth ?

will access make some kind of hybrid synth, that would work along a laptop or computer, with tons of samples, and would allow creating patches like omnisphere: half waveform, half sample ?

every namm, i'm waiting for THE big announcement from access virus... but it's been almost 15 years now, and still nothing.

so yeah, nothing sounds like the virus... more or less :)

Do you want a new synth from Access or a Major update for TI with new features like importing wavetables and new filters etc ?

Virus can't sound like Massive, like Roland Plug-Out, like DIVA....they are all different synths. As analog DIVA and LuSH-101 are better than Virus etc. Depends on everything (polyphony, features, oscs types, filters, lfo section etc.). But if we take Spire and Virus and make similar sounds - just nuances.
Imagine your Virus and something fucking new monster VSTi-synths in 3-5-7-9 years? Software can sound as true-emulated analog, just years and algorithms. It will be so close, that no one can differentiate it....Nowadays products are 1000000 times better than 2000-2005 vsti stuff....Imagine plugins 2020 or 2025????
Necessary hardware will be soon: microphone, ADC/DAC, PC, Monitors, Headphones, controllers - other will be 95% software IMHO... The most frightful are iPads, iPhones that can change everything. Imagine top-quality studio in phone....fuck=(

guys, I don't know. I have and had a lot of preset banks on my "C", there were old weak sounds (pi-pi, tew-tew, paw-paw etc...), that you can make same ones or even better with free simple low-quality VSTi-synths or complicated commercial sounds - they are fukkng excellent, but you can do it with high-quality commercial synths like Sylenth1, Z3TA+, Spire, Dune2. Maybe Sylenth1 is not so close to Virus, but Spire....u-he Hive as well.
It depends on your creativity, imagination, synthesis skills. Software is so close to hardware both digital and analog. It's like Waves L2 (I read about comparison) - expensive hardware or cheap plugin - both give you same quality of limiting (phase cancelling gives you silence, because code is same, either from Waves "hardware" brains or from plugin's code from your CPU). Maybe hardware IMHO is more limited by bit-depth and other stuff out-of-box, but plugin is cleaner - no noise, more precision of internal processing, more bits, floating points etc. So why should we expend a lot of money for "algorithm in hardware", if the same cheap plugin gives you not less quality? Even approximate copy "Yohng's W1 Limiter 2.0" is free as well as other limiters are better....blahblahblah
Same the access - you pay money for "hardware", "architecture of circuits" and "software part". So if there is the same "Virus VST"i (A/B/C/Classic/TI/TI2/doesn't matter) it will cost like Spire or Massive or Sylenth1.
Arturia Origin - hardware with software sounds - costs too much.
Imagine "Spire" as hardware VA synth with same sound as software one - it will cost toooo much. Or Serum? or Zebra? or DIVA? or u-he HIVE?
Don't think so?
