Is this old Casio synth good for something, I mean eg. modern sounds for 2015? Or just old dumb, dull 80s sound? ;)

Lol! No, all vintage synths are useless in modern music. You have to have new synths (2 years old or newer) to make modern sounds.
You cracked me up. I needed that.

Also, thanks Fraggle83!

How old is the sound of the wind ? ... And the sound of the White Noise ? ... And will there not still be used in the so called modern sounds of the 2015 ? ... Why then should not a Casio CZ-XXX be used too ?

You got to move sliders turn knobs and as Mr 555 says "add fx "
instead of flicking though presets.

I bet you would love a Roland 808 £2000 +
this sound cannot be reproduced with new synth's

BIG BIG THANKS to both 'Fraggle83' & 'Lukehh' to have recompiled all these Soundsets for 'CASIO' CZ Series !!!

I'll give you a 'wizard's trick' (or a deeply buried secret ! ) about 'resurrecting'
some (old) Sounds from past Generations...

Add to these Sounds, either some FXs (Soft Plugins, Hardware Units,... ) that were not available within all these 'vintage' Hardware Synths, or not available at these times, or that are,
in some sense, original by their own...

That's what I done (and still do !) with some of my old Hardware Units...

P.S: Thanks to the 'modern Technology', you can also 'layer' some of these (old) Sounds to create
some different (and new !) Sounds or Textures... Think about it !

Thanks for all the answers to my trolling... ;)
I think I will try this synth even if Casio synths had a very bad reputation in the old times, as the lamest keyboards. :D But only after I had time for playing Serum, Blue2 and other synths I had no time last year to try. :)

YEAH Fraggle...You fuck..ng finally made it! Great work! And if AudioZ members appreciate it, I know there will be a Vol2!

But now buddy, take a rest...I know it was an ass full of work to convert all these patches!

Of course mate, Vol2 is on the way! ... And it doesn't matter if Audioz members appreciate this one or not, even i must say i'm in heaven somehow with all this acknowledgements here ... Definitely this is a great community, from Cat the boss to the newest registered member (not forgetting SAiNT the King) and it's worth the work and the effort to make them (us) happy

Thanks in a big way lukehh and fraggle83, I haven't as yet taken the synth out for a ride in the countryside, but tonight perhaps I will and check out some of the sounds you included in your offering. The books are an incredible extra gift, so thanks again friends. I just hope that oxycodon I took a hour ago for my sacral pain (literally a pain in the ass, or close to it) mellows out a bit to let me be present with this new synth and plethora of presets. Over and out....

Wicked, only Casio's home keyboards had a bad reputation but it was so bad it ruined the company as a whole and their Pro synths didn't sell as well as they should have. I have a huge collection of hardware synths bought over a lifetime from junk shops and ebay and I am happy to run a Casio alongside a Juno 60 or 106 or a Waldorf Microwave 1. Try taking samples and dropping them into Serum and you will soon begin to understand that every synth has its own place in history as well as in the present day LOL take a look at how one group made a fortune by using a Casio calculator - Trio - Da Da Da

LOL, thanks for that Da Da Da song, I've heard it many times in my childhood (serious damages), but never seen it! :D

It was not a calculator. It was a Casio VL-Tone (VL-1) ... OK, it also was able to calculate!

Casio VL-Tone

I knew my memory was not mistaken ... Here is the Casio VL-Tone emulator for those with nostalgia (Windows only - Though we Mac users can play with it through multiple ways - Search the net for that, life is not always easy with someone else giving you everything chewed )

Great post, thanks, I have a collection of SYX files here that I must get around to sorting out but I am on an old mac and the virtualcz will not load them so I might have to dig out one of the hardware synths.

Lukehh: It was advertised as a calculator at the time of release, well that's how my scrambled brain remembers it, along with a wild long haired rocker advertising one of their "pro" synths which went along the lines of you too can be a rock star sort of think ;-)

With all my respect, go to the top of this page and start reading the post ... There you'll find this heading «How to Install the Patches», under it there's the answer to your question ... Also, there's a text file in the archive you've downloaded entitled «HOW TO INSTALL THE BANKS!.txt» ... Installation is the same, both for Mac as well as for Windows.
