Amalgam Captures FNDR BFDLX ToneX Expansion DI

ToneX Expansion | 2.8 MB
Well, this is it - an original 1963 (SIC!) FNDR Black Face DLX Reverb, pre CBS era. Entirely original apart from some changed filter caps. It is an amp that has been used literally by almost every big act at some point in time, at the least in one of the many studios where this amp used to be one of the standards.
It has been used in practically any genre and playing style and is extremely versatile.
The cleans and edge of breakup sounds are an incarnation of the archetypical sound of a FNDR BF amp that we have in our heads since the 60's until this day. It plays nicely with single coils and brings out the most stratty sound of a Strat, while it is also phenomenal with Humbuckers, where it can do anything from beautiful clean jazzy chords up to proper rock crunch.
It also takes pedals marvelously and in contrast to most other amps it is very generous in regard to the ease with which it can be dialed in for pedals - unlike many other amps where you have to dial things in per milimeter to get the tone right, this one has a wide range of nice settings that work well.
