Akai Professional & Stealth Audio Present: 80's Nostalgia

Step into the time machine bringing the iconic sound directly to your MPC with 80's Nostalgia by Akai Professional and Stealth Audio. This expansion pack is a meticulously crafted homage to the golden era of synthwave and retro-futurism, offering a collection of 30 custom pro kits that capture the essence of the decade.

Crafted with Vintage Excellence: Every sound in this pack has been thoughtfully designed using authentic 80s hardware—vintage synths, classic drum machines, and period-specific effects. We've curated a selection of fat analog basses, shimmering pads, punchy snares, and those unmistakable toms, all delivered in pristine 24-bit quality to ensure they cut through any mix.

Engineered for Today's Producers: Whether you're scoring a retro film, producing synthwave hits, or just looking to add some nostalgic flair to your tracks, 80's Nostalgia has you covered. These samples aren't just about sounding old—they've been modernized with a touch of today's production standards, ensuring they fit perfectly in any contemporary setting.

Inspiration by the Industry's Best: These kits have been meticulously engineered and mastered by industry-leading producers and sound designers to guarantee a radio-ready sound right out of the box. The pack's sonic textures range from the dreamy to the aggressive, making it versatile enough to inspire across genres, whether you're into synth-pop, outrun, vaporwave, or any genre that needs that 80s vibe.

Sound with Attitude: 80's Nostalgia isn't just another sound pack—it's a journey back to a time when music was transformative. Each kit is loaded with hit-slammin' samples, ready to be unleashed in your MPC to fuel your next big track.

The archive both contains the Xpn for akai software and the standalone export for Standalone mpcs!

And then there is this one.

The version above I linked I will call version A, I will call this version, B.

Version A is the raw wave files. You literally unzip it, stick it wherever you want, use the wave files with any DAW.

Version B contains BOTH the raw wave files (just like the one I linked above) AND an XPN file. If you do not have an MPC or the MPC software, download version A. This version contains everything that version A has plus the XPN file. Honestly, its really dumb why this was packaged this way.

The XPN file is a customized zip format that Akai uses to package a handful of their expansions. If you open the XPN file in 7zip, you will find all of the wave files inside it. In other words, this download contains duplicated data. You only would want or need the XPN file, which can be opened in 7zip and would give you all of the wave files that this download also has. Its like, giving you a download for a zip file AND having all the files in that zip file already unzipped, I dont know why he packaged it this way.

For MPC users, it is preferrable to have the setup.exe or the XPN (Akai packages expansions in either a setup executable or in rare cases, an XPN file) so that the MPC software will see the expansion is installed and show the expansion in the browser window. It also ensures that all of the content is correctly zipped as there is a basic checksum that occurs when installing the content (it checks a header that contains all the content and as it unzips, it verifies that all the content that expansion contains is actually installed).

You can, if you have the MPC software on your PC (the free MPC beats or the paid / cracked 2.15.1 software), drag the XPN file onto the MPC software and it will unzip / install the expansion, if you do not wish to use the 7zip extraction method.
