Valiumdupeuple BiP (bounce in place in Ableton Live!) m4l device-FANTASTiC screenshot
FANTASTiC | 22 December 2024 | 0.3 MB
Everyone's waiting for a "bounce in place" feature in Ableton Live since ages.

Well, if you have M4L, here's the one-click-only solution device, with easy Push1/2/3 implementation. Works in L9/10/11/12.

Place the device on your master track (you can put it anywhere actually), key/midi map it, save it in your default template and you're done!

When you want to bounce something, just place your playhead on the desired track and press you key/midi mapped button - or Select+Rec on Push - done!

Also works with multiple tracks

Automatic naming : your new bounced audio file will conveniently be named "[rsmpl] name-of-the-recorded-track".

At the moment BiP is designed to work in Arrangement view only.

v1.8 (dec 2023):

- make sure the Destination Track (when set to "Custom") gets unsolo'ed if needed before bouncing starts
- make sure that the correct track(s) get unsolo'ed depending on the context
- automatically links to the connected Push version and adds P3 support.
- Push Trigger wasn't working correctly
- lots of little fixes that just make everything more clean
- (BiP for L9 won’t be updated anymore and the last version is v1.7.1)

I don’t think it’s working with any version of 12 at the moment. I just saw the reviews

edit: because it's better

According to salespage it should work with Live 12 too.

I've been using BIP since Live 11, it was working just fine back then, but after I get 12, idk... :\ and for me this is the best max for live ever, is it working for you?

If you're experiencing issues with this device, ensure that your Max software is updated. Additionally, detach the bundled version of Max that comes with Live 11 or 12 Suite.

I haven't tested this
I think for v12.1.10b (I'm using this as well from Centercode)
you should install Cycling MAX v9.0.4 I believe that's the latest version maybe

Using this for some while now and it works pretty good.
This is something that Ableton users have been requesting for ages and should be a feature natively imo.

they implemented the option freeze and flatten in one go

But it still destroys your midi channel and you have to wait the length of your project for the freeze and flatten process to complete. You could be writing an hour length master piece and guess what...
