Plugin Extension For Nam and Genome | AudioZ Exclusive | 1.44 MB
The £5.2k Pound Chandler Zener Limiter uses the circuit designs of two proven EMI workhorses to bring this warm, characterful compressor up into the modern age - but still using the zener diode that gave it both its name and its unique sound. If your music store salesman says, "Dude, this one sounds fat and warm", he'll actually be right for a change. The TG12413 is based on the same circuit as the now familiar Chandler TG1 Abbey Road Special Edition Compressor/Limiter

Modern upgrades on the Chandler TG12413 include a THD circuit to let you access the melodious distortion that results from pushing the Zener Limiter hard, variable side-chain filters and switchable impedance and we sampled just the THD for you using the latest Series 3 Technology, bring you a variable saturation that you can dial in perfectly on your productions.

Warm fat limiting are the 3 words I would use to describe these profiles, capturing the infamous Chandler Zener Limiter in all its glory!

Those are just a couple snapshots then, right? I can't turn all dials in any combination with others as I want, as I would on normal Hardware oder software, right?

yah. the only control you have is how much is applied, by adjusting the input. They still work really well, depending on the program material and what you are after.

Do you know, why they don't offer more variables then?

the technology is not quite there. Its getting there, but its not there yet. Soon we will have the option to capture every attack / release setting, with every ratio etc. For now, we have to take what we can get.

If you mean why doesnt Analog X release more snapshots, then im not sure. I dont really know the details on how they capture it, how long it takes etc. I think maybe they just try to offer the most used settings. A lot of these hardware devices are "set it and forget it" type devices. Many people across the globe use the same settings on hardware, with maybe a small adjustment here and there. With these, the presets are so called widely used settings, and you can sort of think of the input / drive as the threshold, as it dictates the amount of compression in a sense.

Solid observation. I've found a lot of people who've never been in a studio or never worked with hardware, aren't aware of this. Your prize for pointing this out is that you get to change your profile pic cuz it's wicked creepy, way creepier than M3GAN.

It's already possible. NAM published a parametric model of an overdrive pedal, where every parameter has been captured (so you can adjust every parameter and recreate the hardware pedal).

https://www.neuralampmodeler.com/post/the-first-publicly-available-parametric-neural-amp-model

But I guess it's a much more elaborate task to capture all parameters of a hardware, since one has to capture all possible combinations. This is feasible for a small pedal with only 2 or 3 parameters, but imagine capturing a sophisticated hardware compressor with 5 - 6 parameters and all possible combinations!

Spot on. Even Pultec Passive EQs are on fixed settings for some of the biggest names in mixing.

44.1,,
Thanks to trae_hym, I didn't have to buy this piece of crap.
Not indicating the sampling rate on the website is like a scam.

If you're running sessions at higher sample rates, 44.1k IRs will work without issue, and IR Loaders are fully linear process so there's no aliasing being introduced there either—so I'm curious what the issue is here?

people just love the aliasing madness

It's not an IR though. It's a profile captured from a hardware unit with nonlinearities. So the sample rate DOES matter.

Does anyone know how these and other captures (pasttofuturereverbs, etc) compare/contrast with nebula 3rd party libraries by Tim Petherick, Tim Wisecup, etc?
  Member 4.05.2021 477

very very different

this is some kind of AI capture, Nebula is originated in AA method. Which one is the best? The one you like.

This is all hype and shit. Please get off my ass with your new "technology". Doesn't even sound good hahaha. Sound's like shit. Smeared, just like Acoustica plugins, that GLASSY sound. Nope. Sorry, the best algo plugins are still much much better than this nonsense bullshit!

what's your monitoring setup?
  Resident 25.12.2017 6 2119

I don't think it has anything to do with his monitoring setup that's lending to his opinion, I think it's preference. While I agree with him on Acoustica—I've don't use their plugins and, after trying a bunch of "flagship" tools of theirs, never understood the fan-base surrounding them—I don't think they're comparable in this case.
I'm bowing out of this one though, since quotation marks, zealous leanings and talking straight ish are all signs it's turning into a GS thread, and I abandoned that den of emotions years back for the sake of sanity.
Peace

Please support me if you enjoy my work ;-)

ps. new 96k custom CNN based profiles are currently in testing and will be available following Genesis plugin release. The initial test results are very promising. this is not open source models (LSTM or NAM) which are designed more for guitar amplifiers.

Have a great weekend.
