Preamp IRs ... what a joke
What's next ?
Toilet IRs ?

I wonder how someone can be SO stupid to make products without even knowing what he does and how it works.

Even worse : ppl buying it

even worse, people who don't know what they're talking about and talk bad about it.

IR is linear
Preamp is non linear

Using IR to "capture" preamp is a pure joke for noobs knowing sh*t to audio.

Because IR is just an EQ curve + time.
It is good for reverbs, delays, cabs ... but NOTHING related to distortion.

To prove my point, it is simple : take a clean guitar, put this after ... and you get a clean guitar.

Take ANY preamp REAL sim, do the same, push the preamp and you get distortion.

It is always funny to see ppl knowing sh*t to IR (and audio in general) telling others they know sh*t ...

In one of their other products, they make no secret about it and recommend to add the non-linear elements on top. Unfortunately, they don't provide anything helpful in this regard and they should be honest about it in every product description where it applies.

The 1073 preamp IR is quite nice, try to use it! But I'm skeptical about microphone, speaker or AD Converter IRs. I bought the 'Lavry Gold Savitr AD converters plugin extension for NAM and Proteus' from 'Past to future reverbs' a few days ago, forgetting that Neural Amp Modeler only works in mono. I'm not sure if it's worth buying, as I can only use mono clipping with NAM. The saturation I got from proteus was subtle but barely noticeable. Still, it's true that we can't use clipping saturation on stereo tracks with this.

You can't simply use saturation with this, because IR is LINEAR.
An IR never captured any saturation, and never will.

What if i apply this IR and then route the channel to a hardware send and run it through a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone pedal for the crunch?
Will that work?
