So it's a plug or...?

No, this provided format is not a plug-in. It is an impulse response format that records the waveform of an effect, etc. as it is. This format requires various effectors that read the impulse format Impulse response can be used with a variety of hardware and software.

Thanks. How do you get the sound into a source like vocals or recorded guitar?

these are .wav files that you can drop in your favorite convolution style reverb plugin. a good one is the convology xt free vst plugin. fun fact: you can really drop about any .wav file into a convolution plugin to create some unique sounds.

So say you just recorded some vocals. Can you use these somehow? Thanks

For example I use Studio One as my choice of DAW. S1 has a reverb plugin called Open Air. All I do is open the Impulse Response in Open Air and I can adjust the reverb parameters that Open Air has. I as so happy to get the IRS for an old reverb I used to own the Alesis Midiverb II.
It truly sounded just like it!

In what folder in your computers plugin database do you drag these? Thanks

In FL Studio you could use Fruity Convolver and I would assume you could just drag and drop the impulse response into it. I haven't tried it myself but it should work.

I highly recommend to use this IR with Liquidsonics Reveberate3. The IRs sound superb and characterful but it needs some EQing sometimes because it can be a little too dense cause of the tape saturation. Adding some synthetic Early Reflection on the 2nd slot of reverb to add clarity and positioning really makes them sound like the vocals recorded in expensive studio. It needs some practicing but trust me it will be worth it to learn the Reverberate3 and fine tune the IR. You'll understand how to get the best out of the IRs and shaped your reverb. It has everything you need to dial in a good reverb sound. You only need to spend few hours to make some good starting point presets and if you got it right, it will easily be your go-to. This is some of the best IRs I've ever heard and I play with them everyday.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

I´m trying to load them on reverberate 3 but it doesn´t seem to be able, the graphic thingy goes blank and no sound comes out. Any help please?

Reverberate3 is one of the best sounding convolver that provide lossless result with the IR. Being one of the best, it comes with a steep learning curve with how to work with. One needs to learn about the preset systems first, then all the nitty gritty about the glorious tweaking option it offers. I suggest watching videos at YT and read the manual to learn more. I wish I could tell how to use it with just one comment in here, but it's impossible.

Here's some idea for quick start :

1. upon loading it, go to the top left, Bank menu, and select "Empty Bank"
2. then go to the bottom right, click "Preset Bank" a panel will be open below the plugin.
3. on the preset bank in the panel at the bottom, make sure you are at preset no 1:Default. It wont make any sound at this moment.
4. Select the "Reverberation" tab on top left just below the Bank menu.
5. Make sure you are on the "Reverb 1" (it's a dual engine), and load your IR to it and adjust the Level and Dry/Wet. Everything is on that tab.
6. Read the manual to see how to save, preset browsing etc. Trust me this is the best convolver plugin there is, and I've tried atleast 20+ other convolver plugins and none of them come close, sound-wise. Steep learning curve tho.
7. True Stereo Simulator (SIM-TS) is epic if dialed correctly
8. Use Reverb 2 tab (2nd reverb engine) to blend with another IR or add synthetic early reflection to enhance the IR on engine 1.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.
