Dillon Bastan Iridescence Max for Live Device AMDX-ARCADiA screenshot
Team ARCADiA | AMDX | 3.23 MB
Iridescence is a MaxForLive delay effect with arpeggiated note trails via a polyphonic real-time pitch shifting and delay system. You can select how many notes are in an arpeggiated “chord” created off of the audio input. Additionally, you can create up to 16 different chords that can transition via a Markov Chain (a probabilistic transition from chord to chord). This device can create beautiful harmonies off of a single note! There are various settings that allow the device to transform from one purpose to another. It is a powerhouse for real-time harmony on a continuous audio source! NOTE: This is an audio effect and though similar in some ways it is NOT by any means MIDI note arpeggiator!

Walkthrough

To Install And Use Presets:
Drop the entire folder called 'Iridescence' (NOT the folder called 'Iridescence v.x.x.x') into the folder called 'ableton/user library/presets/audio effects/max audio effect'. This is found in the 'Places' section in Live's browser or in your finder/file browser. If you are going through finder (mac) the Ableton folder is typically in your 'Music' folder. If you are going through your file browser (windows) it is typically in the 'My Music' folder. The path to the .amxd file should be: 'ableton/user library/presets/audio effects/max audio effect/Iridescence/Iridescence.amxd'

Awesome, this sounds like a Chase Bliss pedal. Remember, if it's a small developer and you actually use it, try to support them during these hard times.

Even if i add the content (inside a folder) in User Library\Presets\Audio Effects\Max Audio Effect as they say on the instructions i still need to drag and drop the max for live device every time i load a preset :(

This is an odd thing I've been experiencing with some devices. For some reason, I noticed that .amxd with presets in a project folder seem to work but if placed in a different folder, they need to be manually dragged after device is missing message. The drag to the right missing bar works but it's a pain after awhile. Haven't yet found a solid reason for what causes it all. This sometimes happens with stuff right from dev too.

I encounter this every time, this works for me only when it's an Ableton "standard " alp file or if there's a live set inside but even in that case it works only with the devices that are already in the project, Fors Opal is way even worse 'cause the floating gui is only available in the live set, if you load a preset or the single max for live device does not have the floating gui, really weird indeed.

Hey so I made this and if you are struggling to afford it you can email me and we can work something out, just search my site dillonbastan.com

Otherwise know I am an independent developer, this device and my others feed me and allow me to make more, I'm not a big company or anything! You can even buy Iota from my store dillonbastan.com/store directly, 100% goes to me. Thanks !

Well, i have to say this: this comes from Isotonik studio store and not from Dillon Bastan Store, problem is that Isotonik Studios provides an .alp file and not single folders, that's why if you load a preset Ableton doesn't find the max for live device no matter where you put it, i just download Markov variations (which is free) from Isotonik Studios and there's an alp file inside the zip so i guess that the guy that provided this had an alp file too but he didn't share that, he grabbed all the folders from the installed alp file and zipped it which is not the same thing. That's why Ableton can't find the max for live device when you load a preset. if someone found a solution let me know, thanks.
