EZX Sound Expansion - 2,08 GB
Even though some of the greatest drums in the world roll straight off assembly lines before they end up on store shelves, there is something irrefutably unique about the handcrafted – the ones where the artisan has steamed, bent, screwed, bolted and riveted their instruments together from the first slab of produce to final product. We’re talking about the made-to-order, custom and rare instruments in which each man-made little characteristic contributes to something that can’t be mass-produced or mimicked: personality. Welcome to the Custom Shop EZX, a collection of some of the most rare, hard-to-come-by and unique handcrafted drums in the world.

While most EZXs seek to capture a certain sound or genre, the Custom Shop EZX goes out of its way to do the exact opposite. It’s about the drums and the drums alone. It was recorded by producer Joe Blaney (The Clash, Prince, Keith Richards) and drummer Stephen Belans at Brooklyn Recording, a studio with a room ideal for transparent drum tracking. Featuring all handpicked drums, with tom shell sizes ranging from ten to 18 inches, several different types of wood and metal as well as a host of cymbals, the Custom Shop EZX presents the broadest possible sonic scope. The truly unique Q kit, with its solid copper shells, has a tone unlike any other – loud, open and resonant but still centered and focused with a deep and warm decay. On the other end of the scale we have the Japanese Canopus kit in a traditional jazz setup, producing a much brighter, more dense and complex attack. Balancing between the previous two, we have the classic Craviotto in solid walnut shells, crafted by hand at the small boutique factory in Watsonville, California, giving you a punchy, bell-like clarity but still a dark and round sound. Finally, at the far end of the meter we have the thunderous Fibes set, a maple-ply kit with a truly deep and vibrant tone.

Add to this four extra snares, two kicks as well as brushed variations of select kits and you have a sonic palette with near infinite application.

Welcome to the custom shop. All the drums are yours to keep.

Yes it can be used on a Mac but not sure if this library can be added to the current EZDrummer. What are you having trouble with from Windows to Mac? This is just an expansion so it should theoretically work both both OS

Unfortunately on Mac to run this you need at least 2.17, we're stuck at 2.16 right now...

You can't run the expansion until we get 2.1.8 but you can use the midi.

With V.R's SD3 yes its working but i have doubt about mixes. Default kit's snare hearing loud and presets have some minor mix problems. It needs EZDrummer 2.1.8 and i dont have it but i experienced some EZX libraries not hearing exactly same on Superior Drummer.

Do you have any examples of an EZX that doesn’t sound the same in SD3? I have tested this extensively in the past and found there is no difference As long as the same preset was selected in both, but if you have an example of this then please share. Maybe what you’re calling mix problems might just be your own personal preferences which doesn’t equal broken functionality. I haven’t tested this particular one yet but I will once I get home.

Ok I just tried it out. With the default kit selected the snare does seem a bit loud but it might be designed that way to showcase that snare, but on the "Funky Craviotto" preset it's also too loud. The other presets are all fine. I was going to install EZD2 again to compare but the latest ezd2 release doesn't look solid. I uninstalled EZ2 a while ago after spending a good amount of time comparing how EZX's sounded in EZD vs SD3, I came to the conclusion that I didn't need EZD installed anymore because the sounds play back identical, or close enough to identical.

So if someone using EZD2.1.8 wants to weigh in here that would be cool.

I don't see any difference. And even if there was, you have so much more control in SD3 anyway.

I never seen this kind bad mixes in any EZX or SDX library before, may be its their fault may be this presets are not original may be its about EZDrummer & Superior Drummer difference i dont know but there is definitely mix problems about this presets.

I didnt check all EZX libraries on SD3 i dont know are they hearing %100 same or not but when i checked EZX libraries on SD2 there was noticable mix differences in some libraries thats why i'm keeping EZDrummer.

Almost every toontrack preset that comes with a kit needs to be remixed. FOR ANY project. In you want straight out the box then go with steven slate. Toontrack you gotta put some effort into even with EZX and adjust things as simple as volume which you'd do for any track since no track should ever have the exact same presets..

Name a present since even back in Avatar days that came with a perfectly mixed kit from any preset... They don't exist.

EZD comes with edited samples and mix ready presets as SSD difference is SSD dont have any effects everything is static, EZD have some effects. You cant use SSD in mix without adding dynamics and/or EQ. SSD is not more mix ready than EZD or Addictive kind libraries.

they take less than toontrack products. But personally I may use a few replacements or overlays from SSD, I wont even dignify Addictive. But what I'm saying is toontrack presets have always been super off, like you have to think they if they had strange set up that you just can duplicate.

But then again I can duplicate almost any drum kit i hear in SD3. It can take 8-20 hours to get something to sound exact like the album kit but yeah I know the difference. I was saying if you want to be that lazy SSD is the closest when it comes to volume levels and trying to make it no extra work. But thin cymbals is the least of SSD's issues. Sorry I forgot jokes in text format can miss the target when using abstract to point out the absurd.

The differences in sound between EZD and SD3 are your imagination, like a placebo caused partly by looking at a different GUI. Proof of this is the fact that you can’t name any specific examples of an EZX that sounds different in SD3.

I agree 2 of these presets need more work than normal but not too crazy since this isn’t the normal type of EZX, as always with toontrack there’s some great sounds.

What's up man - yeah I did that and it loaded them but it is still asking to authorize the library to be used - so we're close but something has to happen because the R2R Keygen doesn't list the newest libraries to crack.
