Ivy Audio Amazing Piano Sample Library KONTAKT-FREE screenshot
Ivy Audio Amazing Piano Sample Library KONTAKT | 5.68 GB
Piano in 162 is a Kontakt sample library of a Steinway Model B grand piano. Like all Ivy Audio libraries, it is available to download completely free of charge for personal and commercial use.

Due to time constraints I was unfortunately unable to record release samples, which means the library might sound a little funny in certain situations.

All keys sampled with:

Two microphone positions

Five dynamic levels.

Two round robins.

Sustain pedal on and off.

Gave it a go a while back. The demo sounds good but I didn't really like the feel when I actually played it.Good free piano though seems like the guy put a lot of work in on it.

I think this library sounds as good ( or better) as many of the best available commercially...

except... as he noted ..no release samples., but if he ever has time to
add them.... I would use this often...

worth a listen

A free library worth 6GB deserve an applause despite the quality.
The quality here is awesome too, what else you can ask?
Great job Ivy Audio (dunno if you read or if you are only on AudioSex)!

No Simon thank you for making the best free piano on the planet. Really. It's truly excellent and you could have charged for it but you chose not to. I just want you to know that we all really respect and appreciate that because it's an amazing addition to any musician or producer's arsenal. We're really excited for your upcoming libraries. All the best.

Wow this is crazy how good it sounds... Just now seeing your
message. I have a Steinway but carrying around is really not an option.
This thing sounds the same if not better than when I record
with my Sennheiser e914 pair, TLM 193 and LT-381. That 96k
version would take you a while to upload but it would really be
appreciated! Thanks again!

Honestly... I was listening to the demos and heard the new one by
Sam Narboni. The You're not alone (Balade). You can hear the improvements
made over time. It's unreal. I think you pretty much have this mastered already.

I understand what you mean. So you were the engineer and the Pianist behind this entire project? I'm guessing you recorded this entire thing in a studio then? Was it at the University? The Mics you recorded with sounds like paired Neumann KMs or paired AKG C414s. Possibly a KSM44. I say that because of how well the high end is being picked up. Could be a U47 too lol! I also like the Shure SM57 on piano too but it for sure did not sound this good when I tried it. This also sounds slightly better than when I record on my 193 and this is still a free so......

Hi Simon, after reading the comments from the more experienced members here, I am very happy to get this Kontakt set.

Also, looking forward to your additional libraries when they come out.

I'm glad to help out seeding for as long as I can.

If you do any updates, please add a quick comment here so we can all get notified.

Thanks again :)

I downloaded this again ..but I'm still having velocity issues where a moderately
hard note comes out much louder than i would expect.. are there some kontakt settings
i can adjust for this? I would like to use this... but I need to resolve some of the
jarring transitions I'm getting...

again thanks.. they are great sounding samples..
