multi-libraries, Kontakt

EPICA comes with a stunning interface powered by the latest Native Instruments Kontakt software that gives the user amazing sound-shaping capability. You only need the FREE Kontakt 5 Player to use EPICA, but it is of course also fully usable with the full version of Kontakt 5.

Over 17,000 24bit samples have been hand-edited, looped and multi-layered to produce an unsurpassed richness and authenticity of sound that will have your audience gasping in appreciation.

"An excellent, very well thought out and powerful instrument with a huge range of possibilities… there are so many great sounds here… enough to guarantee you'll be using it for years to come. Highly recommended. Rated: 9/10" (Future Music magazine, UK - read the full review HERE)

"It's the sound that really counts, and on that front Epica is a blast - versatile basses, pads, FX and much more… the presentation and quality carry it off. Rated: 9/10" (Computer Music magazine, UK)

EPICA comes with over 600 patches of pads, leads, basses, sequences and fx and of course it has the sound-shaping capabilities for you to create much more. We really believe this is the best sounding virtual instrument we have yet created.

EPICA's samples have all been recorded through an equipment chain of 100% boutique hardware with no plug-ins used in the creation of the source sounds. We wanted to create a library that offered a fresh palette of sounds which were rich in timbre and had their own character, so that it would set your music apart from the masses.

The User Interface was designed to give you full control over a huge amount of sonic sculpting options without slowing down the creative process. It is both quick and simple to use but devastatingly powerful when you want to create your own presets… which you will find yourself doing within seconds.

Most virtual synths have lots of gimmicks but need a lot of work to make them fit into a mix and often sound weak and artificial. EPICA however, sounds great straight out of the box. There’s no need to reach for that EQ, compressor, or other plug-in, EPICA just sounds so good on its own!

Well, synths (especially analog) were the only non-Kontakt sounds I was using until not long ago. But having recently acquired some libraries like this (and this is definitely a good one), now I'm getting close to do almost everything in Kontakt (Alchemy, Omnisphere and Absynth still get some use when I need to create original sounds.) Which is a good thing, because it saves me time looking for the right VST. My studio is full of hardware synths I never use... But my clients love to look and play with them, so I'll definitely keep them... They're becoming the pinball machines of the XXI century studio... ;)

Maschine is not a real hardware synth, it's basically a glorified MIDI controller...

Same here, I'm doing all ITB lately, don't feel like firing up the synths... I even got a big ass modular (eurorack) that is covered with a sheet for 2 months already... Haven't touched it

If you want to say thanks for all the awesome work I do then send that badboy on over here where the only sheet it will have on it is when I tuck it in at night. I've always said that the people with the best equipment have the least appreciation of it, it's just not fair.

I just don't part with it because I did put a lot of time and effort building it... But nowadays, I wonder if it wasn't a big waste of time and money. With sonigen modular, Karma, ACE, Zebra etc.. You can get the same sounds and there's no hassle of cables and shit, sync problems, etc.. If I ever need the money I'll sell it, but for now I'll keep it, I'll be in finantial loss either way

I think you nailed a big trouble related to big hardware : it takes a LOT of time and money to use.
I was reading a guy saying he get a full rack of hardware synths taking dust...to show at clients.
Because he is ALL softs for synths for years.
-because he can use several instances, instead of one
-no real time rendering (big time saver)
-no configuration, bad connections, bad sync for audio and MIDI
-instant recall (try to do that with a modular :D )
and i forget a lot...
When i tried ACE for the first time in full quality, i already known there was something changed in the audio world.
Now, i see hardware more and more as "spice", not "meat". I know, it will irritate some ppl ;) But to me, workflow really overcome sound. I don't speak about tweaking knobs, because it is like "tweaking" b**bs : virtual ones don't replace real ones

Sorry, it's been a crazy "weekend", I haven't had a minute to myself and there's so much to do. It took me no joke a few hours to arrange my task list for the week. Yeah chew on that one for a moment. My task list has task lists.

I just wanted to say that for a mere 100 bucks, this virtual synth is a steal. So, if you like it and use it, please do buy it. I did.

looks interesting, but how is it's cpu usage? I mean obviously, 6 instances of sylenth on a mac osx will be less then some Kontakt 5 insters.... looking forward to checking this out...
..grateful for HEXWARS, R2R, SYNTHiC4TE, CASHMERE, HCiSO & ALL teams, AZ crew past and present, and friends I have met here . RIP and LOVE to Olymoon and his family.
