Toontrack has announced the release of the Latin Cuban Percussion EZX expansion for EZdrummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3, recorded by acclaimed percussionist Richie Flores and Grammy Award-winning engineer Dave Kowalski at Sear Sound Studios in New York.

The Latin Cuban Percussion EZX was envisioned as a percussive complement to the Latin Cuban Drums EZX and features a collection of the most common percussion instruments used in the wealth of music sorted under ‘Latin’: congas, timbales, bongos, guiros, shakers, woodblocks, cowbells and more. It was recorded alongside its EZX counterpart at New York’s renowned Sear Sound Studios by Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated engineer Dave Kowalski and sampled by undoubtedly one of the world’s most in-demand percussionists, Richie Flores.

Richie, Brooklyn-born but raised in Puerto Rico, embarked on his journey as a professional percussionist already at the age of 13 and was the youngest musician to ever travel with a band outside Puerto Rico. Since then, he has played with some of the most celebrated artists in Latin music, performed on several Grammy Award-winning records and continued to perfect his musical voice.

If the drums paint the bigger picture and act as the rhythmic heartbeat, percussion is what fills in the blanks and makes sure all the glaring colors and hallmark Latin accents indefinitely shine through. Simply put, in Latin music, percussion is just as essential to the groove as the groove itself. Welcome to your new go-to collection, handpicked by one of today’s number-one performers and captured in stunning detail – encapsulated by the iconic aura of the Sear Sound room.

Latin Cuban Percussion EZX features

•Recorded at Sear Sound Studios, New York.
•Produced by Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated engineer Dave Kowalski.
•Sampled by percussionist Richie Flores.
•Includes the essentials of traditional Latin and Cuban percussion: congas, timbales, bongos, guiros, shakers, woodblocks, cowbells, cajon and much more.
•Comes with MIDI performed by Richie Flores.

Thanks for the share....but it asks for authorization in EZ Drummer 2 cracked (HIgh Sierra)...exactly as Latin Cuban drums. All my other cracked expansions are working fine. Cheers

Midi files is inside Latin Cuban Percussion and Latin Cuban Drums folders and has to be moved to the main Midi folder to work.

If you get a message saying your sounds need updating, it's because of the folder name.

Rename folder to:

EZX2_LatinCubanPercussion

It should work fine now.

Thank you for the tip but it didn't work. It still says I need to upgrade SD to 3.1.7.
I upgraded and after that SD could not see any of the (many) Ez libraries installed. Had to uninstall SD and reinstall the early version I have (3.0.3 if I remember well) to get back to the usual working state.

You could try just editing the minreq to 3.0.3 in the Aversion file (use notepad or notepad++ to open it), but I'm not sure if it will fully work.

To Peghead,

In SD you'll need to give it a location for yout EZ libraries. SD does need 3.1.7 as you've found out but it does work.

try this:

1- Rename (temporarily) the folder displayed in "Additional Libraries" so that SD3 cannot find it and displays an error message
2- Click on on the icon on the right of "Additional Libraries" in the Settings/Libraries, paths, go and click on "Locate" Additional Libraries "Folder"
3- Point to the folder where the MIDI and ZDX of EZdrummer 1/2 are located (example: C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Toontrack \ EZDrummer)
4- Restart SD3
If you do not follow step 1, SD3 will still display the error message "No library ... found" even if you specify the correct path
