I've been waiting ages for someone to up this again..I got all excited and then realised that it's not in wave, aif or rex...I'll have to search around and see if it's possible to convert akai to wavefiles?......anyway, thanks for posting !

Use CDXtract, Translator, Extreme Sample Converter, or Kontakt.


For CDXtract 4:

Extract until you get down to the Akai disc.

Open CDXtract, go to virtual drives, click open disk image, then locate the Akai disc.

Click the disc button that's under the refresh button, then click convert full disc, select Kontakt at the top of the screen that opens.

Select your folders, then click convert.

This will export the entire disc in the same kind of layout as the original disc. I'm sure there are other ways, but this is how I do it.

thank you to everyone who replied with info about converting these akai files to wavefiles..I'll give it a try

I've tried to extract the .bin contents using several different programs as I've done many times in the past...but the .bin files for disc one and two seem to be corrupt according to the error messages I'm getting
