Depends on the club, depends on the band. It's a standard 4 on the floor beat, conducive to you know...dancing. You can still create groove with a steady pulse, you just dance the other instruments around the monotony of the drums. Not to mention there are plenty of genres that predominantly do the same thing. Techno is actually very involved production wise. And you must be young because it was a mainstay in clubs certainly in America where I believe you're from. I partied in clubs that you only read about these days and I can say: not only do clubs play it but it drew huge crowds to some of the best clubs in the world where it was played until people couldn't move anymore. Also a rich history there, grew out of Detroit which is one of the poorest areas in America so it was the people's music. Can't be too boring since it's primarily electronic music that was combined with funkier genres.

Early pioneers were heavily influenced by Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder and co. Some notable names were:

You should read up on it, it's actually a really interesting time in musical history.

There are so many different variations of EDM, Techno, Trance, Breaks, Pop, etc. and you will see there are a ton of different sub-genres. Once you learn what each variation is then you will have a better appreciation of given style. From what it sounds like your talking about any 4/4 style of music. Look into what style of music you are talking about and hopefully you will get a better understanding of that style of music and hopefully you will get a better appreciation of said style!!!!

Easy to feel the passion behind those words Catalyst my friend. I was there too, right at the start, except I was here in the UK, and like you, I have seen crowds Rock their Bodies for entire weekends "until people couldn't move any more!"

They were amazing days. An entire new genre of music, with an underground scene that changed youth culture in so many ways. It was just such a buzz thinking that we were doing something completely new, which echoed back to the days of dancing round a fire while sticks were thumped against rock, wood or any other resonant object. Interesting that the HUGE rose granite obelisks found throughout Egypt are extremely resonant, just like the pyramids!

I found a REAL COOL link a while back: Must-Watch DJ Movies You Haven’t Seen

There are EVEN MORE movies when you scroll down! Hope enough peeps find their way here so they may find their way there!!!

For the record ( ) I find the loops and melodies found in the demo`s for this MIDI Pack to be not to my taste, however, to each his/her own!
And the truth shall set you free.
