same problem here. Tried creating .cue file with no luck. Used Toast etc to mount no luck.

Sorry Mirko711 this does not work either. Forget it. It creates the cue file and burns the cd with no error msgs, but when you eject and load the cd it says it cannot be read.

Can someone help us out?? Or create procedure to mount/burn this?

newbies do not no what is akai cd, so they must use GOOGLE!
Akai format cannot be read by any opertional systems, you must use a specific program or a sampler like kontakt or exs.
Do not cry/war for macs, tranform it on a hack...of course you can use both on the same system...I like apples and oranges!

Extract both files and burn or mount the image (select the Cuesheet (.cue) in your software). Your file manager (e.g. Explorer in Windows) won't be able to read the disc, 'cause it's AKAI, but compatible software will.

there is no cue file when you extract these files. Only a Bin file. I have tried making cue files with 3 different softwares for the bin file plus making one manually using notepad but toast titantium will not read the burnt image on the file. It will burn it but using the cue file but it will not read back so I can't extract the Akai files

I don't know for what stupid reason but Toast Titanium 11 for mac will not burn this but tried on easy cd creator on PC and it works!!

first get this and install

Virtual CloneDrive works and behaves just like a physical CD/DVD drive, however it exists only virtually. Image files generated with CloneDVD or CloneCD can be mounted onto a virtual drive from your hard-disk or from a network drive and used in the same manner as inserting them into a normal CD/DVD drive.

now extract all the samples ,you will get folders Disk1 etc, open the folder
you will see .cue and .bin, now right click on .bin and the window will say mount
now mount it to a virtual drive, you should see the name come up in the virtual
drive , it can mount .bin or iso files ,now if you go to your computer windows explorer
it will whine it can not read it ,do not click on it, just know it is there

Now open Wlodzimierz.Grabowski.Extreme.Sample.Converter.v3.6.0-ASSiGN
you have installed it also

now click on, Source Format , drop down window, auto detect cd format , now click
on ELBY clonedrive, it will be one of them and you should get Partitions in the
column, then folders and then sound which you should be able to convert and use yes

Try to have some creativity, I know these can be a pain but I think this is the easiest
way to do it dance

uninstall the first one and install this one

OK after investigating Wlodzimierz.Grabowski.Extreme.Sample.Converter

it will mount .bin files also in the program go to Virtual Disks

click on the drop down menu, Open Virtual Disks find your .bin file

it should open , I thought it only opened .nrg and .iso

but it does .nrg , .iso, .bin , .img

So I do not know if this helped you or not dunno

For Mac can you not set up a virtual PC, run windows yes
use Wlodzimierz.Grabowski.Extreme.Sample.Converter dance
then export to a common folder on your system to your DAW dunno

I can not test this, I do not own a MAC
I run a virtual Mac on one PC in vmware, Mountain Lion OSX
but I do not think I can run virtual Pc in a virtual Mac to
see if it will work , In vmware you can have shared folders
between the real and virtual operating systems , maybe someone
with computer skills, can try this on their Mac and do a write
up , all the programs are out there, so it would just be their time

There is some confusion because of the mislabelled discs.
The correct listing for this Akai set is -

Vol. 1 - Gospel
Vol. 2 - Blues/Soul
Vol. 3 - Jazz/FX
Vol. 4 - R&B/Dance - missing. Just a duplicate of Vol. 3 labelled as 4.
Vol. 5 - World Voices


EDIT - Billy J has added the correct disc. Tried and tested, it all works great.
Just discard Vol. 4 in the original pack and replace with the Disc from the separate link and rename all as above!



To those having problems, akai discs will generally not show up in your OS when you mount them but they ARE mounted. They will show up in whichever program you wish to use. You can use CDXTRACT to convert them to whichever format your prefer.

Hello, for anybody who got this to work, I just need one sample from this pack that I know is in here that I cannot find anywhere else. I have tried to get this to work on Mac for hours, but I cannot even get the iso file to mount. If anyone is willing to send me the one sample that I need, message me, thanks a lot.

For OS X users:

if it can helps someone coming late like me, I found a workaround to extract all these aka libs on OS X Yosemite in a finger snap : use "keygen runner" application

1/ Get keygen runner application (google is your "friend" .. somewhat)
2/ Get CD Xtract for windows ( found here on AZ)
3/ Open the .exe setup file from CD Xtract with keygen runner
4/ Install it, don't quit the installer after installation ends up, launch it as the setup invites you to do.
5/ You can now use CD Xtract which works perfectly and allows you to convert all your files to your desired format (open each .bin file, select all the folders, choose save at the bottom of the windows, choose your format, destination, done)

Hello Admin can you please re'up the forth disc (R&B/Dance) again as the file is corrupt i probably won't use that one but i am kind of a freak when it comes to having complete sets and it will annoy me knowing that i don't have the full sample pack Thanks guys superstars all of you wouldn't know what to do without you guys.

fourth disc is fine, I just downloaded it now, August 8th 2019, of course Windows tells you it's corrupt because it doesn't recognize the file structure of the Akai CD, therefore use CDXtract to mount the virtual drive , navigate to the .iso file , all you need is the iso from the Disc vocal_planet-R'n'B&Dance 04CD and CDXtract , you'll be able to mount the .iso with CDXtrract and then you can convert the files to any wav or aiff or mp3 using CDXtract , I used the aformentioned CDXtract keys to register, its all working !
