Thank you.
for anyone who download this I suggest extracting the files at night when you go to sleep :)
its going to take a very long time

It didn't take that long and some bits need more than one extraction

Something like this is a real nightmare on your system, just so you know.
It will clog and be a real pain - anytime you need to migrate, save and copy your system to another location if something happens. I have something similar, less half of this this size and I do regret having this kind of huge midi files on my system anytime I need to do system back up or anything alike. Just be aware.

I think if you save all the midis to an iso file and then mount that iso when you need to use them, there is no such problem.

Great tip! I was wondering the best solution to this issue.
Giant MIDI packs (Prosonic etc.) are hard drive and online backup hell.

An iso, great idea man

Yup, great idea! There's also the .daa (Direct Access Archive) format created and used by PowerISO which is a small app that you can easily find as portable and does basically the same an ISO except it's compressed by +-60% compared to ISO (it can also be split or password protected).
You don't mount it though, it just opens like a zip file but you then can access the files as if it were mounted.
Just click the MIDI file and it will instantly play with your associated player. You can of course also copy/paste on your PC. There is no apparent decompression, it's instant.

Best way to deal with this many files is to pack them inside an ISO and mount it whenever needed. Too many files can make even an ssd crawl.

"Composer Loops"

But there's already a 999,000 one here, we can add 1000 from here and just make a 1million MIDI file release

well if you go on composerloops website they have search filter by samples depot , studio 66, m-pro loops studio. I'd say they are all the same or together

not classified by genre but by producer, no demo mp3 then not easy to use them. I do the work with preview of a lot inside this pack...with mp3 preview and folders icons (destop.ini files+xxx.ico) usable on pc (all wav files are erased for more space on HDD - only certain loops like guitars are converted in flac format). I asked here for share but no package like that are tolered...

Domage... it is hard work for few years ago
i've do the same for serum

same like this one "Samples Depot 999.000 Midi Collection Bundle" sames files, a big "melange" schizophrenic work !!

don't wast your time

I'm sure many have experienced this...
You play a MIDI file and it sounds like complete atonal nonsense!?
This is obviously because the player is not assigning the proper instrument to the correct MIDI track. (like every element of a drumkit being played as a piano!)

Is there an easy solution to this? e.g. some player that solves this problem?

Must have taken them 20 years to make

Nope, I'd say half day. The vast majority of this has already been released. This is just a huge compilation of various releases made over decades. Nothing has been created by these guys (or not much anyway).
It's also horribly named and organized. They just gathered MIDIs from torrents (and maybe here?) and lumped them together in a huge archive, that's it.
I realized that I already have a vast majority of what's in here. What I didn't have, I didn't even want initially so basically not much new...for me anyway as well as many others I'll venture to speculate.
