I'll partially agree, but only if you agree that it *does sound like a ton of commercial beats in the mid-oughts... which were made by people who *had listened to Hip Hop, they just weren't *actual beatmakers. You know what I mean—it's not about elitism, it's about how labels recruit musicians, not even bad musicians, but musicians who aren't Hip Hop Heads, just dudes who are told to recreate a certain sound, so that's what they do. We can spot when someone's mimicking our style, simple as that.
