I saw a video of a guy who repaired an actual Linn 1, and it just sounded so RICH and FULL. It sounded ALIVE. It sounded different that any sample of it or VST recreation of it that I've ever heard. Including Aly James. I have to imagine that it has something to do with the quirks and flaws of real analogue gear. Egyptian Lover said that every 808 sounds different.

Xhun little one claims that they programmed flaws INTO their VST. And it sure does sound good...

I bet it sounded amazing. But couldnt you try to replicate on a DAW with different effects and maybe eqs? Im sure its not the same but IMO i would say analog is more limiting as its up to the machine but with digital you can tweak however much you want
