Spitfire London Contemporary Orchestra Strings KONTAKT FULL-Z0DI4C screenshot
Z0DI4C | 25 DECEMBER 2018 | 23.1 GB
This is a fixed version. Sorry for the last one missing some files.

Everything you need to make cutting-edge strings music. There is a shift in string writing that is becoming a global movement - based on innovative techniques and performance styles, it’s notoriously impossible to program with the tools currently available. We’ve partnered with the London Contemporary Orchestra, whose work with the likes of Radiohead and Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant) has contributed significantly to this shift, to create a string library that gives you access to this unique, experimental palette. This library contains multi-sampled violin, viola, cello and bass sections, and has been recorded at our dry stage in London. With a host of dynamically controllable, never-before-sampled articulations, this rich set of diverse recordings are both playable and musical, and will transform your work.

Now that we have overdiscussed about downloading issues, let's talk about the library:
Does someone have a clue which previous library could match with the soundscape and the size of sections of this one?
It's because I can't believe how SF creates so much waste. They recorded so many crazy expressions in 6 mic position but it's useless without the basic things like legato. If it were an EXP library, I would say, cool. But this is not cool.
And the usual issues like horrible noises in numerous notes. And the vibrato sound overlapping (/adding to) the non-vib sound, causing volume difference...
Maybe those noisy recordings are the watermark for SF?
Thanks for sharing to have the chance of trying it. (I really mean it, in a good way.)

"...like horrible noises in numerous notes" Well, I have to admit that I didn't noticed.
Can you elaborate: which notes/articulations are faulty?

Now you got me. I don't remember which were those that made me write this strong definition.
There are always notes with background noise by non-related open strings or studio noises, that can be distracting, perhaps not clearly audible in ensemble but if we're speaking about it quality-wise, that's a usual issue. And it's not the same as any noise happening naturally in real interpretation, if the noise comes always with the same note.

I just went back to check some patches quickly and maybe there aren't as many as they used to have (or because there are only 3 or 4 traditional articulations here, the rest, the contemporary sh/t – for me – is originally horrible) but what I rapidly found as examples:
Violins - Vivid Long (vibrato on) second RR on G2 (kind of a snare noise), D3 and on C4 (harmonics noise).

(I don't bother checking other mic positions than the default mix)

Edit2: The second MIX mic comes with the stronger attack and too much volume.
Vivid Long - D3 note comes with cat purr, A3 comes with bow noise after the release.

I think it's prolly supposed to go w/ one of the new "dry" libs like Studio Strings? But prolly something like Sarconi quartet or Chamber from the stuff that's been released?
Thx to anybody posting Spitfire / OTB libs!

Bingo!
It uses the same samples as in Chamber Strings but there's always some different reverb layer and scripting with differently edited attacks etc.
So after quite a few tweaking you can blend it with Chamber and have the traditional patches, especially legato.

Now I will stop this Columbo roll because I may have difficulties to sleep calm, after finding enough proof about Spitfire using the same samples in its libraries that already recorded some 15 years ago.
Yes, my brothers and sisters, I could even find some of the recorded noises in different libraries on the same note.
They used the same samples in Sable, in Mural and in Chamber strings (and probably in Albion, too, but I won't check it anymore), as in this Contemporary library. Even worse, they used the same original dry sample for Symphonic Strings which is supposed to be a large section but they didn't bother, they just used more reverb and some overlapping.
We've all known this somehow for a long time, why am I surprised anyway?
But now I'm just speechless.

Thank you for this release :)

Would someone be able to re-up this please.

Tried everyone's mirrors and they are all deleted.

Thank you in advance.

In light of the lengthy discussion on the forum, I can say that loading this library left me with a feeling of deja vu. It doesn't have any tonal difference to so many other libraries from this company. I think I need to do a clean out. Send some Messerschmidts to eliminate the Spitfires.

I 2nd that.

A re-up to UL would really, really REALLY be great.

Was only able to save 25 parts of 39 to 'OB OO M' before it was gone.

So now I am stuck with a not completed download. ;)

If someone would be so kind, that would be REALLY great!!

Thank you for the upload. Quick question.

I currently use Kontakt 5.8.1 but when i load the library it says:

Your version of Kontakt is too old to load this file.
Please update to the latest version.

Any idea how to fix this issue?
I'm on a Mac

Thank you in advance
