I wish I could try it but the interface is all screwed up and I did not find a utility in the folders to fix that. Anyone else has the same problem?

Great, but we can do exaclty the same thing, using other Strings Legato packs from the past. Deception 19.7 GB for simple Ostinatos on which we can not manipulate.

Using it: The first impression was mmmm... it sounds poor, strange...
Then into the DAW + some EQ + some good Reverb things changed for good.
Past the first pages of phrases, arpeggios are interesting.
Depending what keys we play sounds or not, it must be learned.
Finally THANKS for Lenfile server, wonderful free option.

Interesting to see so many different opinions here on this great release some from those that hadn't used the lib yet. The deal for me is simple. It's not about if it's a great product or not. It's about the great opportunity AudioZ gives me to decide if it's great for me BEFORE paying the $300!

@Piano Man : Yes, it is the way to see it.
But if you read previous comments, you will see the word "free".
Because it is a gift for some ppl, not try. On my side, i don't even want to try it.
Demos sound bad. Just bad. And if they can't do more than that with it...i will do even less.
The same way, ppl raved about audiobro LASS. I found them totally unusable. Massive use of EQ, reverb and such to make them sounding acceptable. There are better alternatives to me.
Everyone his/her taste. I will pass on this one.
I don't need 20GB of samples i don't like to be "emotive" ;)

I thought it sounded pretty good (maybe a little "wet" for my personal tastes and didn't have the grit I sometimes want from these kinda things, not as much resin on the bow sounds I personally like, probably which is lending to the "thinness" some others are referring to here, in a mix I can see it sounding more like, i don't know, "romplish?", but I probably need to spend more time...., I was also getting some glitches, perhaps just running at a low buffer rate with many instances of it open... wish I had a little more control over the sound, (i think there are a few bugs in this 1.0 release as switching eq settings and close mics etc sometimes would silence out the patch), they are pretty "loose" for those used to tighter sections (but that makes them more "real" right?:))... but there is some cool stuff in here, definitely a "complimentary" library to others, wouldn't be my desert island string section, but when used with some of the other great libraries on here, it is quite nice once you get around the interface and know how it works....

This product WAS designed as secondary product. There are not enough articulations to pretend being a "full" product by today standards. 20GB/300 bucks for a secondary bank, niche product.
Funniest being i'm pretty sure a lot of ppl downloaded it without even realizing it was NOT a complete strings bank, but more a melodic/legato/run one only

Add 100 bucks and at 399 bucks (limited price) you get Cinematic Strings 2. Killer sound, and a lot more options. A real, full, impressive sounding bank.

To me, this bank is not impressive enough for a niche product, at this size and this price.
Of course, how many ppl will not buy it, and stack it on their hard drive ? Real question
PS : CS1 is around 21GB. CS2 45GB.

yeah, most people did not go to the NI site where they describe it better, it's part of a growing series they have , with session strings, action strings etc.... which are all right... I have heard great things about cinematic strings, but haven't tried it myself, but I am pretty sure it is better then the NI offerings, which are fine for a lot of stuff, but I don't see a lot of composers using it, but gets by pretty well in a pinch... and yeah $300 for a limited legato add-on is a little stiff...

I totally agree with both of you.
I was very excited about this one to be honest, because sometimes things have to go quick and I thought it would be cool for fast mock ups and/or presenting ideas, kinda already then knowing that in the end I'll at least layer other legatos if not replace the entire library.
Well, I had a quick go when it was released here on Sunday, wasn't too impressed by the sound then. My first opinion was based on their demo tracks, and hell, NI knows how to make demos (again, just my opinion) so I was sold and pretty sure I'd buy it (which is what I do with things I use a lot and make money with, old school eh?! :-) ). Today I had a longer session with it, hearing it really raw and I'm not so excited anymore... Looking at the price and all the other alternatives we have.. nah.

Grateful for the share and effort nonetheless! I might store it on some external HDD, but it probably won't make it into any of my orchestral templates.
In the end of the day, it comes down to taste either way, so I hope a lot of people make some amazing tunes/scores with it, it's just not for me after testing it really. Which brings me to the point to say, thank you AudioZ. You saved (once again) me 300 bucks.

i have to agree with Vertigox. i too am grateful for this opportunity but i am still waiting for Sonokinetic Grosso, a more satisfying lib with orchestral tutti not just strings.
