A: Yes you must install 5.1 without uninstalling 5.0.3 or new libraries will not work. Whoever wrote the install instructions for 5.1.0 either had a good laugh, or never tested it on what he was writing instructions for.

B: Like others mentioned the quality is not here. I'd say this sounds a lot like a NI Studio Drummer kit. Very dry, very 1 dimensional, paper thin. I can recreate the exact same kit in Superior Drummer 2 that sounds 1000x better. It'd just take me 5-6 hours of routing, tweaking, and mixing.

I'd say it's fine for a stripped down writing kit [if you can't stand EZX kits]. Other than that this is just the latest reason Vir2 has let me down. Electri6ity seemed good until you needed to do heavy tight stuff, 80% of it was guitar's almost no one would use. Acoustic Legends was horrible, all of their "unique" instruments [Fractured/Q/etc] aren't very good. At this moment the only Vir2 instrument I don't regret buying is BasIs and even then I only use 1 of the basses in it.

Oh well, I don't expect to hear much from Vir2 in the future. They're products are starting to tank hard.

If you like to use preproduced drums like this or NI, this is your thing. If you like to produce drums on your own then look elswhere, like addictive drums or superior drums. ;) In other words if you have no clue how to mix drums use this or NI. If you have, use some more dry and raw recorded kits or programs that can provide you with these [turning off fx].

That would be true if you actually had access to all the parts of the drumkit. For example I don't like how they stifle both upper and lower snare head to get that "polite" snare sound. I often need a snare that rings. You can't get that sound out of any kits from either Studio Drummer library or Ocean Way. No matter which transient designer, comp or EQ you use, the snare can't get that "banging the bucket" crack. Here, they seem to be doing better in this department. So, I say, a nice variety to most libraries out there. If your budget doesn't permit recording live drums, this can be handy. Grab it.
