Straight Ahead Samples is pleased to announce Straight Ahead! Bass. Taking from all that was learned on our Drums and Brushes & Mallets libraries, SAS dove right away into creating a realistic upright bass library. Our focus is similar to our drum libraries; the sound and the feel. Featuring our new β€œAccented Legato” script which is more than just stock legato transitions, this mimics the way players truly move from note to note.

At $89.99 this is a steal. I just bought it. Please do the same if you use it. This is a really great library offered at a more than reasonable price. It's better than Trillian for a fraction of the price. We should encourage developers like this.

Really? Care to explain why? What I'm saying is that it's better than Trillian's double bass. Specifically for jazz. But I guess you've never been around the real thing (let alone you can play it) and you don't know much about jazz...

Are you into jazz? Do you play jazz?

If not, your opinion is quite irrelevant.

This is the best virtual instrument to emulate an acoustic bass playing jazz. Especially mainstream jazz (i.e. not fusion.) It's not meant to be used with pop, rock, rap, country etc. Of course you need the skills to correctly program it. Which means you must know down to the little details how a jazz bassist plays.
