There are plenty of people that supply without compensation of any kind. If $trong $ound could even make a case where he/she is using the money earned through hosts to get more libraries, there wouldn't be any issue.. but he/she just clams up and refuses to provide any information to the contrary, which fuels speculation that he/she is only uploading for the money.

Since I don't upload files to hosters for money, I'm not aware of what the payout is, but if he/she makes on average $1 per article posted here, that would put his/her income at $3,000+. Would that cover the costs of a lot of libraries? It would. Is that what $trong $ound does? I don't know. He/she won't tell us.

At first I was a little annoyed by what happened this week like some of you, but please stop and think about it from both sides for a second.

Using his links if possible is literally the least amount of gratitude you can show.

We can improve the situation by putting some ideas out there and building a win/win plan. Let's see some leadership and some creativity to not only save but strengthen and refine this wonderful opportunity.

I really think if Strong Sound and the other few uploaders can make something from their efforts than I would rather have them be compensated for the time and effort and risk they are willing to put in to provide us literally with tens of thousands of dollars of soundware a week. Especially if it costs me nothing extra.

If they want to use a service that they prefer for WHATEVER reason, the rest of us leechers should just say "Yes Sir, Thank You Sir!".

It is NONE of our business how much or little these people may or may not make. Your part of it is to get stuff for basically free.

If these uploaders who choose to spend their time and take the risk to CREATE the scene make enough money to live doing only the service of supplying us with free software, then I am certainly happy to do the minimum amount of effort and support them by clicking on their links.

We will ONLY benefit if a few key individuals spend more of their time focused on uploading and curating links for us. I would much rather have a "professional" supplying us a constant stream of quality goods than a random splattering of haphazard semi-working cracks from people that hardly know what they are doing posting duplicates and ancient offerings.

I can understand the whole "Peace and Love, free software and samples for all" philosophy, but the reality is it takes time and money to keep this thing going. It takes money to live, and I would much rather have this site than not. If you are uncomfortable playing your role in the black market economy then no one is forcing you to visit or click on it. Take your entitled bratty venom elsewhere.

It's not irrelevant at all. $trong $ound is uploading files large enough to force everyone to become premium users on the hosts he/she uses. That's tactical, not practical.

ryushare - bad hoster aswell - i do not wait 4 or 5 hours for 760MB
Bitshare - file deleted the only hoster i would take
gigabase - premium account required
unibytes - not working in my country
share4web - also totally slow - ive tested before around 4 hours.

This is why there needs to be mirrors. Most users will download from the original poster, but there are some users that, for whatever reason, will not be able to. There's just too many reasons that people can't use whatever host of the week seems to be the best.

That was/is/still the original idea, but the "internet" is a different story, and an evolving content distribution medium. In more recent times, sharing via torrents killed the ftp distribution method of the latter 90's & early 2k's, cyberlocker services w/the help of blogs/forums eventually killed torrents (now organizational sponsored pro DDoS services), and the next evolution will eventually manifest itself as well.

However, I'm pretty sure the cyberlocker revolution isn't going away anytime soon, considering its been going on since the 90's with services such as angelfire and homestead (and many others. Those are also the only 2 I can remember off the top of my head). This is just the next generation. This is just how things go, and this shit costs money.
