Warm & Delicate

Brass Brand brings together some of the top musicians from the British brass banding scene in northern England, playing at their quietest dynamic to produce a warm and delicate tone. Following the release of Gentle Winds and Gentle Strings, we collaborated with some of the finest British brass musicians from the heart of the traditional brass band music scene in Northern England. These players were captured performing at their softest dynamic, creating a warm, delicate texture.

Each instrument—Euphonium, Tenor Horn, Flugelhorn, Cornet, and Soprano Cornet—was recorded individually, then brought together in a seamless ensemble patch. Performed in the large hall of The Nave, this library offers three microphone positions, and like the previous libraries in our “Gentle” series, it includes an Atmosphere Layer- a processed version of the raw samples that expands the sonic possibilities of the instruments, making them suitable for a wide range of musical applications.

The Interface



Dynamics
– Boosts the transient of each hit to add more attack/ punch

Colour
– EQ effect to change the brightness of the overall sound.

Atmosphere
– Control the level of the Atmosphere Layer and press [S] to solo it



Reverb
– Controls the stereo widening effect, turn clockwise to widen the signal, turn fully anticlockwise for a mono signal.

Mic Mix
– Control the amount of spot, overhead and room mics. Mute [M], Solo [S], and Purge [⏻] the raw layer and individual Atmosphere Layers from memory. Blend between a close and far mix.

Dynamic Range
– Determine how much the volume of the instrument is controlled by the velocity input of your MIDI device.

Attack & Release
– Control the attack and release values of the notes

NKS Support and Kontakt Player compatibility
We are delighted to offer full NKS support for Blueprint: Gentle Brass. Harnessing the power of Native Instruments’ Komplete Kontrol keyboards, you have full hands-on control of the instrument, using the built-in display and parameter controls on the keyboard. This also means that Blueprint: Gentle Brass is accessible to blind and visually impared musicians. Furthermore, Blueprint: Gentle Brass is compatible with the free Kontakt Player, with activation through Native Access, meaning you can use the library without purchasing any additional software. You can download Kontakt Player from the Native Instruments website.
